Rolex insurance
Hi everyone
Do Rolex offer paid-for personal loss insurance to their owners? In case of loss, theft, mugging, etc. |

No.. You will need to insure it with an insurance company. Rolex do not offer this service.

If you have home contents insurance check the policy as you may well be covered for loss through the usual unfortunate methods. In the event that you are not covered or don't have home insurance it is relatively cheap to take out. Alternatively there are companies that do specialised jewellery insurance, a good insurance broker should be able to help you.

Check Hodinkee. They just started providing insurance (via Chubb I think), and it looks reasonable and comprehensive.

I think Hodinkee insurance isn't available outside the US yet. OP is probably based in the UK.

I have some watches insured through Hodinkee and some through Jewlers Mutual to spread it around. I've never had to make a claim with Hodinkee and wonder how it would go if I did.
Make sure to keep up with the market. My 116500 was semi-recently stolen and I'd just gone through the process to raised the value to current market levels. If I had not done so I would have only received $13k |

OP im from UK..... I've literally just got off the phone from my home insurance (Halifax) I added my new DJ to it. I also gave the replacement cost as the price it says on my chrono24 app. Not sure if that's right or not.

Be careful if you travel outside the US with your watch(es). Some lesser known policies out there do not cover theft occurring outside the US. Others I've seen do not cover unexplained loss (ie - I left it in my hotel room and when I woke up it was gone).
I use my homeowners insurance company and have a personal articles policy with $0 deductible. It's cheap... really cheap considering the value of my collection. |
