Rolex Oyster Day-Date "TRI-DOR" 18K Ref: 18039 Bic

Darn it - can't work out if I can put the link in here.....???

What are they worth........looking at one here in NZL (NOS) and think it could be a real real nice watch.......what do we know about this model.....produced for a short time about 20 years ago......I wonder how many were made?

What should I pay!

Well the ladies Bi-Colour ref 68279 with the Tridor pink/yellow/white gold bracelet. bracelet,and the gents ref 18039 with the Tridor president type with concealed clasp. The gents Tridor bracelet watch with the President with concealed clasp,was around £1500 more more expensive than the same watch with just plain gold.Think it was the late 80s they was taken out of the catalogue,expensive to make and expensive to buy
and now bring a little bit more than the equivalent gold models.
And looking at list price in UK 1986 the 18039 £8800

If it's authentic (I'm not saying it's not, I just no nothing about this style whatsoever, however Padi has now enlightened me a bit) , I really like that watch! It's a real looker!

I remember those from the late 1980s. The links look like through-hole resistors.

The TRIDOR model was quite popular in the mid-80s through to the mid-90s. However, it didn't quite catch on and was eventually discontinued.

I've seen one for real and it's the bracelet that is truly fascinating with its mixture of pink, white and yellow gold.

The case was WG, but because the watch gave off too much of a two-tone effect as compared with the beauty of the full YG models in the same range, it sooned waned in popularity and was eventually taken off the production line.

Sorry JJ the Tridor was discontinued latter part of the 1980s only made for around 3 years.

Well, Peter, if you scroll up and take a look at that catalogue picture, that pic was actually taken by me from a Feb. 1993 Rolex catalogue which I have with me.

The model No.18239 Bic (for Bicolor) had a list price of Sw. Francs 22,860 at the time. I had received the catalogue along with a matching price list from Rolex, Geneva and still have both with me.
