Help on a deep sea purchase
Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I’d like to see if you guys can help me out. I own a couple breitlings and recently stumbled across a deep sea at a local pawn shop. The price is right, and the serial number shows it to be a 2008 model. Problem is, the watch has a few dings and seems like the owner probably wore it and never took it off or properly cared for it. The bezel action is nowhere near as nice as say my breitling super ocean. It hangs occasionally, but I assume this could be corrected with a service etc.. the bracelet has been repaired and the job was poorly done, and I think the pip on the bezel has been replaced also. I’m having a local watch guy who buys/sells Rolex meet me there and the pawn shop has agreed to let him open it to verify the movement inside. Is there anything else I should look for besides the crown etched in the crystal etc?
It’s at $4,000 which seems crazy cheap and I’d be all over it if it’s real. I’ll attach a couple pics and maybe some of you guys can let me know if there’s anything that screams run. Thanks for any help! |
