AP 15500. The Aquanaut is nice but underwhelming and grossly overpriced.
The 15500 has a gorgeous caseback and actually looks it’s worth not to mention it isn’t double retail. Only scenario I see the aquanaut better is if you intend to use it heavily in water or are rough on your watches. In which case neither is really a good option. |

I pick the AP, just so much more watch, the 5164 is more of a close call.

AP 15500 New .. or Used PP Aquanaut 5167
I like the Aquanaut but at current prices you want to have huge funds or crazy to buy.
But even if market value is same as the AP, I would still get the 15500 over the 5167. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I would get the 15202st instead at 45k. 15500 is big, 5167 doesnt worth 40k with no real history..,

I owned the 5167 for a few months, it’s just not an AP. Got rid of it for a new AP after four months.

Neither for the price. Agree with top up budget and go for 64 step or RG.
Otherwise WG OF and list price or GMT Metorite at list for same price point. Finally, white dial 26331ST at list over those which I believe is relatively obtainable. |

Value for money as ironic as this sounds is gonna be the 15500. However I think sentimental value also plays a factor and although I bought both new from the AD, there’s something unique about the 5167 that makes me lean towards it.

I was able to buy a 15500st earlier this year. Still lusting after (and working contacts) to get a 5167a.
If you told me I could only have one I’d stick with the AP. A beautiful modern movement, a bracelet second to none, iconic design all around. When you put it as new AP vs used PP it’s an easier decision for me too |

I was in this position previously. Went with the RO as I thought the 5167 was too pricey.
I'll still want an Aqua though, and am waiting for the hype to die down. |

+1 on the 15202, an incredible watch and prefer it over the 15500 I have. I just don't under the hype with the aquanaut, the rubber strap looks like tire tread marks.

I know I'm in the minority but assuming you can justify the premium, I would undoubtedly go with the 5167.
I agree re 15202 being the way to go, but put next to a 15500, I would go 5167. I really love the sleek look and comfortable wear. |

It's a simple watch granted but the strap is actually a really quality piece and the design's lines follow on from the dial's lines in a continuity that works really well, something you don't notice so much until you see the aftermarket straps like the Rubber Bs which look kind of blocky and unrefined when set against them, but alas they have nice colours like the khaki.

I have both - prefer the 15500 for its looks, the bracelet and the fact it makes me smile every time I look at it.
For active use and as an "invisible to most others" watch, I love the 5167. Ultra comfortable also. If one, particularly if I had another watch for active use, the 15500. |

Ah, noted.
In that case, AP. Additional reasons for you to consider: 1. If you end up not liking the black dial, you can switch to a non blue dial later, Ie gray or silver. 2. You can put a rubber strap on the AP to switch between strap and bracelet, but for the 67 you’re stuck on strap. |

15202 can be had in the low 40s. I’d happily sell you mine for $65k though :)

45k is the reasonable price for 2015+ 15202. Its the most iconic watch in the wrist watch history without any contest.

iconic in terms of what? maybe for watch enthusiasts but the majority of non enthusiasts don't know what an AP is. i would say a sub or datejust (or day date) is the most iconic watch. almost everyone has heard of rolex and those 2 are what come to mind when thinking of rolex

Both great watches but the AP for me. Having owned one a few weeks now it’s incredible. As for the bracelet - wow!
