Blancpain Air Command purchase?
I have the opportunity to buy a new Air Command from an AD. No discount but no sales tax. I love the look and idea of the watch but on the fence as at that price point there are a couple other watches I really like. I feel like I should get the Air Command as it’s very limited and likely wouldn’t lose $ if I decide to let go.
I haven’t seen much about the new Air Commands on here so curious of people’s thoughts. Yes I know it’s my money and my decision but it’s always fun to hear other opinions. Pic borrowed from web |

Blancpain Air Command purchase?
It is serious money Blancpain is asking for this model. Beautiful pilot chrono re-edition of the 1950s original. It has some similarities with the vintage Breguet type XX.
I like it a lot on the photos, but have not seen it in the flesh. I think your AD will not have a lot of trouble to sell the watch. I have seen a few recent incomings on another watch forum. Vintage vs new Air Command. Photo copied from web |

Try for discount, I disagree with your value assessment. Great watch though. Released same time as Barakuda which is long gone. This one still around

Blancpain makes great watches. It is a shame that their resale is not better. I think they are much, much nicer than comparably priced rolex.

I do like this watch and would be a buyer depending on what else was in my collection at the time. Resale is always a concern but this might be a keeper.

Buy it. I do not believe you will lose money on it. It is one of the best limited additions. I regret not buying it myself, however, I did get the Nageur de Combat LE.

I agree. Hell of a movement. It would be a no brainer at 15k but at 20k there are some other very impressive pieces, hence my hesitation |
