Tudor Black Bay Rotor Noise

Hi everyone,

I just received a Tudor Black Bay 79230 with the in house movement. I noticed the rotor is very noisy but only when the dial is facing my ear. Is this normal or is it something that needs to be addressed right away. I bought it from the original owner and it was purchased from an AD in September.

The rotor making a noise doesn't seem normal, but I don't own a Tudor Black Bay so I'm not 100% sure.

Can you only hear it if you put your ear directly onto the watch?

I can hear it faintly about 12 inches from my ear but only when the face is turned towards my ear.

I don't notice any rotor noise on any of my Tudors. I can hear it with my ear planted on the watch. Other than that, nada.

I never heard rotor noise with the in-house Tudors. Butter smooth.

I've got the same Black Bay 79230 and I don't hear rotor noise, but I do get some rattle from the bracelet, usually near the end links.

Try flipping it upside down and shaking it. If there's a loud metallic grinding noise, take it to RSC - that means the rotor is dragging against the movement, usually due to a loose ball bearing which needs to be tightened. Had my Pelagos movement (MT5612) fixed recently for this issue, free of charge.

Faint rotor noise upon shaking is normal IMHO.

Tudor Caliber MT5652 has a ball-bearing rotor and when placed near ear will sound a little noisy compared to the sleeve type rotor.Simple answer stop putting you watch near to your ears then the perceived noise will be gone.

This is a little more excessive. I can hear it if I’m typing on the computer or when my hand is on the steering wheel. I think I’m going to send it to a service center so they can take a look.
