Hi People.

At the moment, I am doing some research for a client. This work envolves me looking at ebay every day. It is very boring, so for some amusement, I check the watches. I look at newly listed Rolex every morning. I see every one as it comes on. Whenever there is a counterfiet listed, I report it. I reported this one and severeral every week. At best, ebay take action within about 3 days, very occasionaly quicker. At worst they do nothing at all. I am not at all surprised that we see more and more on ebay. If the sellers are persistant with re-listing and they keep preparing new ID's with a little feedback, they can keep doing it. It is really time that ebay took some proper, moral, and appropriate action. If they don't Rolex will get them next time, as the should have already in Germany.

Hi Tim,

Its not hard for eBay to track sellers, IP logs will show witch ISP they are connecting through connecting directly with an account depending on the ISP's internal policy and the privacy laws of the country/state/town of origin.

I think these scammers should be blocked at the ISP end, would certainly throw a spanner in the works :-)

It would not be difficult for ebay to employ people in various fields to continualy check listings. If they do already, then there are not enough of them and/or they are not very good. I see the same in
fashion
Shoes
Car parts (worrying)
Small electronics inc Hair dryers, curlers
toys

I could go on (usually do but it's friday)

Take care
