Authentication help! eBay Auction - Real or Fake DateJust

Hi Everyone!

I participated in an eBay auction for a DateJust supposedly in Brand New Condition. No papers or anything. I was able to bring the price down to $3100 but haven't paid just yet. Watch has a authenticity guarantee but I am still iffy about the watch at this point so I need some help from you guys.

One thing I am very iffy about is the Date font as well as the magnification. For a watch that supposedly from 2010 the font looks like your normal Arial front. The date looks even more off on the latest photos he provided to further give me peace of mind. I'm still a little new at this but I am gaining knowledge everyday.

Do you think this guy planning to disappear while the watch is being authenticated by eBay? Or did I fall on a good deal.

Thank you in Advance

Andrew

How does this have an authenticity guarantee from Ebay? That is alarming.

I would not class myself as an expert, but magnification on the cyclops is woeful and the stamping on the inner clasp is laughable. I would say it is fake, fake, fakety fake!

The Rolex logo looks off centered on the clasp.

I just had a gut feeling that it was fake. The date magnification was a dead giveaway, just wasn’t sure cause of the authenticity guarantee. it’s crazy that eBay will actually give the money to the seller before even verifying the watch. Or do they actually put a hold on the funds

That's fake too. Did anyone mention the lack of "Swiss Made" or similar on the dial?

I agree, they need someone to at least visually check the photos to put that seal. I’m sure it’s gonna bite eBay in the ass. This holiday season

Over $2'000 it should have had to go through the authenticity check anyway, so I don't think anyone would have got stuck with it, but it would still be a waste of time for everyone involved.
