Did Flash Gordon wear a Daytona in the 1980 classic?

Howdy,

So I took my teenage daughter to see the 40th Anniversary of the 1980 classic film "Flash Gordon" this week.

Aside from being the dated, hokey, awful, and yet immensely fun film that I remembered, I noticed Flash seemed to be wearing what looked like a stainless steel Daytona with either a gold or champaign colored dial.

Unfortunately, I never got a great look at the watch and, since I have never been a Daytona aficionado, I have no idea if Rolex ever offered that dial combination on a stainless Daytona (let alone 40 years ago.)

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Ruddiger

Howdy,

I must say, this site never ceases to amaze me! Thanks so much for the wealth of information as that’s the best resolution picture of the watch I’ve seen all week.

Take care,

Ruddiger
