AP ROC winding problem
Hi all!
I did just recive my first AP. The 26331ST with a blue dial. After some short time wearing the stunning piece I noticed some issues. Looks like the watch does not self wind!? Picked up the watch today at 07:00. Ticking. On the wrist the full day. Watch just stops at 14:00. I notice this at around 15:00. If I wound it manually it runs the full power reserve. (Chronograph was running during the stop) Any ideas? |

Is the watch brand new/ bought through an AD or AP boutique?

If you are letting the chrono run all day and you’re fairly inactive it is possible that the chrono is exhausting more power then you are inputting into the power reserve. The 40 hr reserve doesnt include chrono in the runtime it is purely for normal hours/seconds. Havnt been able to find the est power reserve time with chrono running myself.

Anyone know, if the watch is almost empty on power. How much ”wear time” is needed to fully wind this movement? Roughly? |

Generally, a watch will NOT itself wind up to a full "charge" from a low state. Once wound (I weekly give mine 40 winds at the stem anyway) reasonable wearing will RETAIN the energy.

So lets say 10% is left. I wear the watch a full day, it stays s at 10%. I then start the chrono, it could easy stop any time? |

I am not sure about the correct answer to your question, however I do know that only a very active day of wrist movement would likely fully wind the mechanism. Perhaps someone will chime in who better knows the effect of running the chronometer.

If I understand what your first post says, you picked up the watch at the AD at 07:00 and wore it (no winding) for 7 hours before it stopped at 14:00. If that's true I think you left the AD on way less than full PR.
Wind it 40-50 times in the morning and then wear it. It should easily make it until bedtime. Then you should be able to leave it on the nightstand overnight and pick it up in the morning and wear it throughout the day and repeat the process. If it doesn't, then I'd be concerned about a PR issue. No rush since you've got plenty of warranty left. |
