116500LN for AP RO 15450

I'm considering doing a swap: my 2018 116500LN Daytona for a 2017 AP RO 15450 Blue dial. Not sure about the price range of the AP, because there are not many of them in my country. The Daytona sells for about $29 775 here, but I have no clue about the AP. The Daytona has got almost no hairlines, but the AP has got some scratches on the bracelet and what not. Is the 15450 less desireable because of the small size? Would the Daytona for the AP be a fair trade for me?

Appreciate any input.

I don’t have the DaytonaC, but did have the 116520 Black Dial. To move into AP or PP or ALS or FPJ, I think it’s totally worth it. Cash in on Daytona while market is high - this is under the assumption you’re willing to move it. If the Daytona is special to YOU (key word: you), then no amount of money/trade matters.

FWIW, I have not tried the 15450, but on the 39 mm 15202ST Jumbo, the RO wears larger than its measurements. I would argue the 15450 would wear similarly to the Daytona, as the Daytona is svelte, itself.

I would do that trade all day everyday without hesitation in the current market if it is a straight across trade. The Daytona is selling really high, take advantage of the high trading value of the Daytona right now.

The AP is going for around 5K more than the Daytona on the grey market, so I think it is a good trade. If you like the AP more than the Daytona, go for it!

If you got the Daytona at retail, all day every day

I think I would do that trade. The only caveat is I'd need to try on the RO first.

Thanks for input, guys. It's happening! I've always wanted the AP, but the 15400 is way too big for me. 37mm is perfect, considering it wears almost the same as the Daytona. I just see too many of the Daytonas out there, and I'd like to have the date wheel. I paid 25k dollars for it not long ago, so I guess it would be a good trade, considering it's a straight across trade. And, of course, the pornographic blue dial.

It's good trade for you.

I have white dial Daytona, I plan to keep it for a long long time.

While the Daytona is a timeless classic, getting into an AP is definitely a step up. It’s like going from a Benz to a Bentley. I have 3 Royal Oak Offshores and I can feel and see the difference in craftsmanship when compared to my Deep Sea. Plus if you bought the Daytona at retail, your taking advantage of the hot market.

I say go for it!

So the AP is highly unreliable with built-in expensive defects to repair out-of-warranty and depreciates massively like a Bentley?

Hmmm, agree the AP is a nice step up from Rolex, yet as someone who has had two Bentley cars (GT and GTC) i'd never compare AP to a Bentley. The AP is far better than that. i'd compare Patek Philippe to a Bentley, as that makes sense.

If you can sell the Daytona for 29,775 then my advice is to get the 26315st from the boutique brand new.

The AP looks great on you. I like the proportions of it better than the 15400. Unsure if I’d trade my 116500 for one though.

I would do that swap for one of my 116520s :)

Nice one, the 15450 definitely feels twice the watch of the 116500 if you take out the hype!

Excellent move. The 15450 and the 15202 are my favorite Royal Oaks and the 15450 has a leg up on the 15202 in terms of functionality. Enjoy it, it's superb piece.
