That's absurd !!!! Both 10% and especially 18% just wouldn't happen here in the UK...

Don't ask why it just doesn't ????

AD's generally are of the impression that they are doing you the favour still ???

10% to 15% off the GV is a deal if you are just purchasing one Rolex. GV is still an allocated watch, most AD's only get 2-3 per year.
If you buy two or three they generally will discount more. Good luck! It is a stunner!

my ad will not budge from 10% off.. he said to go to another AD and get a quote for 15% off and come back and have it in writing and they will match it. i did that for 2 other ADs - they both laughed at me when i asked for discount on GV.

so i guess i am stuck at 10%

the AD mentioned this term "allocated" since they will special order it for me or whatever. i thought there was nothing behind the term but apparently there is...

40% is the best you can get in the USA - but it "ain't gonna happen" my friend. If you can find it at retail here in Dallas you've made a score.

I've read here on the forum of a few that have received 10% discounts on the green glass.

Is it really worth all that to save $300? Just buy the darn thing and support your local dealer.

I don't think anyone of us "need" anything.

Can you get 15% off? Yes if you have a good relationship with an AD and buy more than one watch from them at the same time.

Will you get 15% off if you don't have a good relationship and only plan to buy the GV, most likely not.

The economy may be bad, but it's still about supply and demand. I don't know what the current MSRP is in China for the GV, but you may have already gotten a better deal than you can elsewhere.

Most of us forget that this is an international forum where percentage discounts vary quite a bit from country to country.

Who is giving 15% on a Milgauss GV to some guy walking in off the street?

Good customers might get a discount from their friendly AD, but if I decided today to buy a Milgauss GV, no dealer that I know, or that knows me, is giving me 15% off -or any discount at all- on a Milgauss GV. If anyone knows one in Texas, feel free to PM me.

Tempoking, what you got going with your AD (or dealers) in no way reflects what the average guy can get a watch discounted for at an AD.

If somebody new here thinks they can go in and strong-arm their dealer for major discounts, they'll probably find out different once the negotiating starts, whether it be a 15% discount on a Milgauss or any other Rolex.

No one is just walking off the street and getting 15% from an AD just like that..... I can tell you in my own experience that at this current moment there are not a "Truckload" of GV's to go around as they are selling pretty well and it is difficult to source at a discount...

A typical AD will sell the GV at list .. if he knows you well enough he may go 5-10% at most.... and in the rare occassion 15% but again to a good customer..

I say 10% is good to go.... enjoy the watch and wear it well... you will go through rings and hoops to save 5% and in the end you may not be happy with the end experience......

Hope you get it soon

Best

the relationship

I think 10% is an very generous discount to receive from an USA AD on a Milgauss GV, especially if it is your first purchase from that AD.
Asking for an additional 5% may work but I think developing a relationship with the AD is more valuable. Should you have a problem during the warranty period, you want to have the AD's support if the watch must be returned to Rolex USA.
After I purchased several Rolex watches from one AD, he began calling me when he received trade in watches he did not want to put into his inventory. I was able to buy 2 pre-owned watches at very favorable prices.

I wonder if we started a poll to see how many got 10% discounts on a Milgauss GV, how many responses there would be.

I bet 99% of them would be from guys that buy regularly, and often. from the same AD.

There have been many more Daytonas on the forum for sale than Milgauss GV's. This is a very limited production watch.
