Naples, FL is great. You fly into RSW (Fort Myers) which is 45 min drive to downtown Naples. Lots of great golf courses if you play. 5th Avenue has great restaurants and shopping. There are 2 Ritz Carltons, one on the water which was recently remodeled and one inland on a golf course. If you go to Bingham Jewelers (Rolex AD) ask for Carol.
Safe travels.

And...... I just realized you said near Sarasota. St Pete is nice. Stay at the Don Cesar...if you go south of St Pete go to Pass a Grille beach, very quant, old Florida feel, at least it was 15 years ago.

Don Cesar is great. 100% the place to stay in St. Pete.

Siesta Key is a bit further South and a cool spot as well.

There is a place near Sarasota called Anna Maria Island. I highly recommend it.

I’m sitting on my flight to Ft Myers waiting to take off as I type this.
Headed to Naples for 3-4 months.
The above posters give good advice for where to stay.

I’ll be stopping at Bigham Jewelers next week. I’ll ask for Carol!

Anna Maria Island is where I would suggest. I live in the area and it is a good time.

OP, What are you looking for in a warm place in south Florida?

Naples for high-end luxury and fun.

Siesta Key for the youthful... exuberance.

Longboat Key Club if you're boating in and want access to golf, tennis, multiple restaurants, etc.

Pink hotel that's kinda famous is Don Cesar if you want that.

Another vote for Naples. We’ve stayed at the LaPlaya at least a dozen times and will be back there in April.

We like Lido Key and go every other month or so. Easy to walk on the beach from New Pass to Big Sarasota Pass. And a few minuets walk to St Armand’s Circle. And it’s quiet.

siesta key, marco island, sanibel or captiva.

you could stay at the ritz in naples beach as well - but that is a bit too boxy for my liking.

Lido Key - Stay at the Ritz(Sarasota) they have a bus that goes every 15/30 its a great spot, great beach, the Ritz has a nice beach club facility with full service locker rooms etc.

As a posted stated its blocks from St Armand’s Circle, great location.

We were surprised how much we enjoyed it

I don't think you can go wrong with any beach between St Pete or Marco Island. Maybe try a few days each in Naples, Sarasota and St Pete. It will be about a 60-90 minute drive between those destinations.

Palm Island. No doubt about it.
It’s a complete separation from the norm. No better place to truely relax. Here’s a home I own there. Most get around on golf carts and it’s like a secret getaway.
