Chipanerai and suspicious PMs

I can't say with certainty, but I suspect this account was hacked.

I received a PM from "Chipanerai" regarding a watch I was selling, and was asked to follow up via e-mail.

In the e-mail I was asked to "check out a thread on TRF", which redirected to this fishing site (don't click) -

Please avoid correspondence with this account, and this email address - [email protected]

I strongly believe it is a scam, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise.

Someone beat me to it. Looks like Chipanerai is making the rounds. Contacted me on a recent FS piece and also went pretty far back on the Non-Rolex For Sale area as I had a piece for sale over a month ago.

Saying they are ready for payment, and asking if I am interested in something on "TRF" which is a phishing page.

Be safe out there.

Same here. If you google his email, you'll see he used it in a scam ad before.

I got pinged by this guy as well. He is for sure a scammer.

Glad I searched him up! Took me here immediately.
I received two emails from this account. I got this one yesterday saying:

Hi,
Season's greetings.
I saw your listing, I will like to know if you still have it with you for sale.
Thanks in advance

Then another today:

Thanks for your email... Buying the watch for my birthday
I am ready to proceed with payment and shipping.
Btw Will you be interested in trades, See below for my collections

Got the same attempted email scam on a sold piece.

Got the same email for a explorer II polar I’m trying to sell. This person email [email protected] . Will also ask for trade and stated it’s for his birthday

Your account info has probably been stolen, if you logged in at the phony site. You should enable 2 Factor Authentication now! Your account may be banned soon and you will have to verify your identity to get it back.


Verify your name and email address is still attached to your account and the scammer hasn't already taken over your account.
