Hi,
Ernest Jones branches on Oxford Street are authorised dealers - you can find a list of them on the Rolex page. They will do a tax refund for you. However, my understanding is that they do this on the Global Refund Form which you then have to have stamped at customs when you leave the country. You can then generally get your refunds in cash the same day at the Travelex agents etc. Only problem with this is that there are commissions involved and my experience is that you generally end up with around 10% of the purchase price being refunded rather than the actual VAT amount. The other way to do this would be to find an AD (generally an independent one) that does the refund on a standard form. You would then have to get the form stamped at customs and then post it back to the AD who would then issue a refund on the credit card of your choice. That way, you generally get more of your money back and in my experience, you are usually refunded the full VAT amount of 15% (note that this is 15% of the pre-VAT price of the watch, not the selling price as many wrongly believe. so you'd get the VAT amount by doing Selling price divided by 1.15 and multiply the result by 0.15 as opposed to just taking 0.15 of the selling price itself). It may be worth phoning up a few independent ADs beforehand. There are also a few reputable grey dealers on Bond Street, you can try the Antiques Market on Davies Street and see if they offer VAT refund forms. Others may have a better idea about independent ADs or grey dealers, I'm not sure if it's permitted to post these here. I'm still a newbie on the forum! Hope that helped! |

I have personally dealt with Frasier Harte, (sp) wonderful customer service. The Rolex website will help with their address.
Welcome to the forum! ~Scott

if all fails with the ADs in London, find out which terminal you will be flying out and see if there is a rolex AD on the airside (ie. after the security). you will automatically get a full 15% off VAT and some of them may do some sort of dicsount if you are lucky (have never bought a rolex on the airside, but some of the the ADs i have spoken too can be quite eager to make a sale.) DJ models will be easier to locate than most of the sports models in london. good luck. |

If I'm not mistaken, there is a Rolex boutique in Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Might be worth flying BA then :-)
And regarding discounts, I think you'll be hard pressed to find an AD discounting a SS model in London, especially in shopping hot spots like Bond St. etc. Having said that, I know some people who've managed to negotiate discounts in out-of-town ADs. Might be worth phoning around. |

Thanks for your info....Foxy
It is difficult to buy watch out of town coz we only stay in London for 3 days. Since we use airline staff tickets, we may not have enough time to buy watch in terminal 5. Coz boarding pass will issue at the last minute. Anyway, do you know how to check available Rolex model in duty free at terminal in airport? |
