Rolex GMT 1675 Info

Hi,

I am looking at buying this Rolex GMT 1675 from a friend.

Does it look authentic?

If you have any more info that would be great.

Thanks,

James

It looks like the real deal to me, but to be a little more confident of its authenticity you can check the case engravings between the bracelet lugs for the model (1675) and the serial number. You'll have to remove the bracelet to see these. The model number is between the 12 o'clock lugs, and the serial number is between the 6 o'clock lugs.

You can go a step further and have a watchmaker open the case back to ensure it has the correct Rolex movement.

It's weird being the same age as old people.

Glad to help. This article on Bob's provides a decent history of the GMT Master.

Hi James,

I am quite sure a later service dial is fitted. Dial is almost everything to a vintage rolex so I expect the price to be adjusted lower - in fact, much lower

How can you tell it's a service dial from the pics? Just interested in learning.

You can read more on gmtmaster1675 dot com . The difference is small but very obvious after looking at these dials for a long period of time.

I looked at that site, but I can't see really see much in the op's pics that looks service...
except for the coronet.
