What would you add to compliment a collection consisting of...
Oyster Perpetual 39 grape
Submariner 116610LN Daytona 116500 white dial Daytona 116519 Pepsi BLRO Yacht-Master 116622 blue dial One thing I'm thinking of is adding a fluted bezel Datejust but I don't really connect with dress watches and feel I won't wear it enough. Seems way too showy. The OP39 can work in a dress setting too. Wondering what you guys think about adding to round out the collection though? |

SkyDweller or Datejust.
Datejust isn’t really a “dress watch” IMO. My blue stick/fluted/jubilee looks great with business casual clothing, but it also looks great paired with a nice sweater and denim. |

I think you need to add a DD40!
Maybe white gold version for something a bit more subtle...

The answer is always a DD40. Even if you have to move a couple of pieces to get it.

Oyster Perpetual 39 grape
Submariner 116610LN Daytona 116500 white dial Daytona 116519 Pepsi BLRO So you have white dial, black dial, grape dial, blue dial, ceramic bezel, platinum bezel, oyster, jubilee, GMT, daytona, Sub... I guess a Sky Dweller, Day Date, or a TT/PM piece

I was going to say DJ or DD, but you don’t connect with the fluted bezel — it’s all good. As iconic as these are, wouldn’t bother if you’re not gonna wear either of those. Or get smooth bezel versions of either, which are not nearly as formal/blingy.
If you are looking to continue in the Rolex catalog, I suggest Exp or Exp II for variety. Or even better branch out to other brands (if you haven’t already done so). Best wishes Last edited by Oyster Sauce; 19 February 2021 at 03:12 AM.. Reason: . |

You have many bases covered so I would just get what you like. But my suggestion here would be Exp II

So many amazing Rolex in your collection.
My recommendation would be to step back and look at the collection from a diversity perspective... perhaps something on a strap?

I’d be looking at another brand. You have a great collection, but there’s a lot of other great brands to consider

Thanks for the input guys. I too think it's nice to look elsewhere now. I tried on a 5711 and a 15400. They both come across as dressy IMO and less like sports watches; 15400 is very flashy, like a disco ball on the wrist. I think a happy medium in-between would be an Aquanaut. Either a 5167 or a 5164...

Yeah right now I'm thinking about an Aquanaut.
As far as selling all for one PM piece, I don't understand this train of thought. My six pieces have a different feel to them compared to each other and I love them all. Selling all for one piece just cause it's a different metal doesn't make sense to me with no variety honestly. Also I think the platinum Daytona's a bit overrated. The end links pop out the case and isn't nicely recessed, looks a bit cheap looking. Brown bezel instead of black is meh, and the blue dial isn't really great looking in most lighting, it seems a bit washed out and muted. And the platinum makes the watch heavy to wear for hours at a time and gets a bit annoying. I don't think it's a great piece IMO. |

I’d look outside of Rolex. There are a bunch of other watch brands that can compliment your current collection.

You've got a great collection, and I'm not really sure you need anything, to be honest. But, hey...it's a watch forum, right? In steel, I would suggest taking a look at the Explorer/EXP2. In PM, I would suggest the RG YM/YM42, or perhaps the full gold bracelet version of the sub (either metal) or GMT. Good luck, |

Maybe an Explorer 2 isn't a bad idea. Question is which dial color...
