Do we have a definitive answer on the ability to have a Rolex service center do a dial swap on a Sky Dweller. I want a blue face and might be able to get a white face from my AD. Would be willing to pay for the swap but want to know if they will do this before I buy. Who knows, I may get the white face and fall in love with it but really want a blue face for travel.

Try reaching out to a Rolex service center.
Tell them you have a watch to send in for service and ask about dial swap options.
But I wouldn’t get your hopes up, I think they’ll only do this for Datejust and Day Date models . And even on those models, I think the AD you bought it from has to arrange the dial swap if it’s brand new

I have swapped dials on my Daytona, Explorer 2 and Datejust 41, the latter just a year ago. All also underwent a full service when the swaps were performed.

My understanding is that Rolex will swap dials provided the watch is being serviced as well.

However, I don't know if this applies to the Sky D or not. Also, if your Sky D is new it may be hard to justify a service-cum-dial change now - you might have to wait at least 5 years for them to agree.

In all cases, Rolex will keep the old dial.

The best advice I can offer is to ask them.

If the dial was available originally for that model, Rolex will install it without any difficulty. They will take the old one in exchange, or if wou want to have it back, charge 40% extra. Just had a serti dial installed at Rolex HQ on my 16613LN.

From what I have heard, dial change from other colors to blue wasn't allow for SS Sky D.

Rolex London RSC told me last year when I enquired about changing a MK1 214270 Dial to a Mk2 me I could keep the original dial if I paid a further 50% of the cost of the replacement dial.

We sure have a lot of myths that are perpetuated by this forum. This isn't correct. Please see the recent thread where someone asked about having dial changed on a YG Daytona...

Many threads on this. Call rsc for yourself but rsc had told many forum members in USA that dislike swaps are not allowed on sky d or ss Daytona. Op- call and let us know what the say.

I don’t have an OP41 nor do I like the OP41 all that much but to carry in this dialogue

If I picked up silver OP41 and asked RSC to swap to turquoise or yellow dial- would they do it? I can’t see them saying yes but I’m guessing here

I haven’t swapped before but it seems like RSC general rule is ok to swap if it exists in the line up BUT there’s some hyped models that they won’t regardless such as SkyD blue, WG BLRO Pepsi blue dial and ???

RE OP41. In 10 years at service maybe. Right now with the hotness I'll bet they have some excuse.

My dealer wouldn’t swap my DJ dial until it is up for service.

Don’t know if this is changed, but a few years ago my AD said certain dials are original, factory installed only. If I wanted to swap out a certain dial on my DJ, ok, but Rolex would not allow me to put it back in a a later date, as it was an original factory only installed dial.
For the SkyDewller with only three dial choices, don’t see that as the same situation, although Rolex is like the Vatican with their made up rules.

Folks sure like to speculate... If I'd listened to all of that speculation, I might not have called the Dallas RSC myself to inquire about getting mine switched; but I did. Now I know the truth, at least as it applies to my 116509. It was stupid simple.

I currently have an OP39 at the RSC in Dallas. I am having them swap out the original Grape dial for the White dial while they change the crystal that got chipped. As others have said it is easy enough to call them about it as I don’t trust much if any of the things my local AD has to say.
