Daytona vs Daytona

I'm crazy when I see the...

...Daytona 16520 Zenith and I think it is more beautiful than the 116500?

If Black Dial, I prefer the non-Ceramic Daytonas. If White Dial, I prefer the DaytonaC.

I prefer the look of any Daytona compared to most any Patek or Royal Oak.

The first statement I made about the DaytonaC is that the bezel appears too thick.

Comparing the 16520 vs 116500 (Black vs Black).

I agree with you that the 16520 is more beautiful to me.

Two different looks for sure and the 16520 is classic, but I have seen many with extremely scratched bezels so I was excited when the ceramic model was released.

The variance justifies owning both models.

Thanks for sharing the photo’s.

16520 will always be better than looking ceramic in white and black......no contest........a 4 line inverted 6 is much more rare and desireable also

I prefer the 16520 to the 116500 black or white.

As has been said, the four line Daytona is rare.

A real nice cream 116520 or patrizzi 16520 both also blow the doors off any ceramic daytona

Both are nice and wear differently.

The latest is more robust, better made etc...

The Zenith has more charm.

Not crazy. They are close for me. I definitely prefer the longer, thinner hour marker of the Zenith, but overall the ceramic wins for me. Although the photos you chose don't make for the fairest comparison lol.

Black dial definitely prefer the Zenith Daytona over the 116500 and 116520. Overall steel works better with the darker dial. Gives it contrast. And aesthetics like the hour markers, dial layout is better.

I think most people prefer 5 digit zenith daytona aesthetics. It's a very important watch for rolex, and commands a premium.

Yes, agreed OP. Been saying this for years.

In addition to the above-mentioned points about preferences for the 16520 Daytona, I much prefer the the dial layout with the symmetrical sub-dials on the 16520s versus the asymmetrical sub-dials of the 116500s.

That is a beautiful 16520!

I prefer a nice 16520 to the 116500 anytime.

The D500 black is my dream watch. Supposedly I'm next on the list, but I've been waiting a while. I just hope the don't mess with it this year so that I can get one.

On the 16520/Zenith models, I think there is something to be said about the thinner hour markers, thinner hands, thinner subdial rings and thinner overall printing. Gives the watch a more slim, refined look.

Have the same one and love it. Very under appreciated if that is possible with SS Daytonas. At least compared to the 116500. Same watch, same dial, different bezel and sub-dial rings are about the only difference with the late 2015-2016 116520s. They even have the laser etched Rehauts like the 116500s.

OP I agree about the Zenith. While I prefer the 4130 movement, the Zenith beats both the 116520 and 116500 in terms of looks and feel.

Have you not considered a 116520? I’d rather have an in house 4130 inside
