Kermit date window

Hello fellow members,

I just dropped off my two week old 16610LV to Dallas RSC in person. The service tech looked at the watch and said everything checked out and can be serviced. I did also asked about the date window, he said it’s correct for that model era submariner. To me when I compared it to my SubC 116610, it doesn’t look 2.5 magnification.

What are y’all thoughts? The current crystal is original and they said has no chips or scratches and can be reused. If I opted for a new crystal, will it have the “S” for service crystal on the LEC?

The magnification of the cyclops was never consistent and often difference between batches especially across generations like in your example is very common. Keep in mind it also depends which factory the cyclops is coming from, which results in variance even between identical models.

Yes...a service crystal will have an "S" etched into the base of the coronet of the LEC.

Thanks I’ll probably keep the crystal as is and just do a full service, no polish.

I believe Rolex stopped printing the "S" on service crystals a while back. So, unless you get one that's been in stock for a while, it may not have the "S". Additionally, the date magnification for that era may have been different, 1.8 comes to mind but not positive.
