Does AP Titanium watches get darker
I just got a 26480TI and it’s my first AP titanium watch my previous experience with titanium watches (Panerai & forum) that its color gets darker
I don’t know if AP uses a better alloy that doesn’t change it’s color and become darker after a while Also does AP uses titanium alloy more resistant to scratches than Stainless steel Need your feedback guys |

Cool watch, I’m sure others here will have the answer but I’ve never owned a titanium AP.

I’ve had a ROO Grey Themes for quite a while now, and though I have no objective or photographic proof of this, it does seem that it has a bit of a patina, where the titanium is a little darker than I remember it when it was new.
In my opinion, it’s not particularly scratch resistant. It has the normal wear and tear visible that one would expect with steel. So the answer is: maybe? Either way, I’m happy with mine. |

Titanium will get a patina on it to make it a darker grey over time.

It depends on how you take care of it in my experience, I regularly use WristClean and it looked pretty much brand new over the course of nearly two years. First pic is when it was relatively new, second was a little over a year, last one was a year and a half.

I think it’s grime that gets stuck between the hand finished grooves.
I think you see a similar effect with rose gold over time as well IMHO. |

I think that's a pretty reasonable hypothesis, just an accumulation of grit and particles that end up creating a darker color. Considering I religiously clean my watches, I've never seen a color change. And it definitely isn't for lack of use, since at that point I wore that Offshore daily for almost two years.

Not sure if it gets darker over time but I do like the fact that it’s darker than the steel.
As far as more scratch resistance, I would say no. I have plenty of marks from just normal wear and tear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
