New Tudor 925 SILVER watch?!

Okay when I got into watches about 3 years ago, I really wanted a silver watch.

I looked into it and it seemed like nobody made a silver watch?

Supposedly not precious enough and not strong enough.

Or a combination of both.

Today Tudor released one!!!

What do you guys think?

Silver has a very different color from Stainless steel.

Pretty excited to see one in person.

Yeah I'm a bit dumbfounded by the use of silver. What's the benefit??

I guess silver tarnishes and oxidizes over time. So in a way, you will get a "BB Bronze" effect but on a silver-colored metal

Yeah, no one should buy one.

In the video, I believe Tudor stated that the material is already stabilized....so why not just use steel?

Silver is not durable. It tarnishes, and it dings like crazy! It only takes the lightest bump to leave dents in it.

Rolex/Tudor punches their cases out of ingots.
You are not going to be able to dent that watch.

Gouge it maybe, but not dent it.
It sounds like they added some different metal to slow down the tarnishing process, and make it harder than your typical silver as well.

Silver cases are not new. I have seen many pre WWII watches made in silver.most of them are not overly worn. And that's after 100 years.

Pocket watch cases for ever were made of silver and they are still going today with very little wear. I am sure there are some other alloys in the mix to help with durability.

Probably just to make it very visually distinct from a distance.

Exactly - why not red, or black or indeed any other colour!?

My wife has a solid silver watch for 10 years not. Still looks new. Don't know why.

This will be Tudor's entry and the winner for this year's Challenge Watch Prize at GPHG.

I don't hate it, the 925 case makes it worth about $25 more than a SS case.
It has a 'ghost' element to it.
Not buying it thought.

I just hope we don't get more investment threads from members that buy the silver watch.

Imagine Reddit traders make silver explode, and we have 20 threads on the new Tudor being a great INVESTMENT

Don’t like the taupe color. It’s not “chic.”
