Wrist size for those who prefer "modern" offerings
This is one of a pair of complementary polls. The return of the Rolex Explorer back to 36 mm has generated a bit of conversation -- some rejoice, others lament. The purpose of these polls is to get an idea of the wrists sizes of those who have a strong preference for certain dial sizes.
For this poll, if you strongly prefer more modern watch sizes -- let's say a minimum of 39 mm for plain bezeled watches like the Explorer or the OP and/or a minimum of 42 mm for sport bezeled watches like the Explorer II, what is your wrist circumference? This poll is for those who prefer these sizes over others. That is to say, if a particular model was offered in multiple sizes, you would almost always choose the larger version -- this poll is for you. This poll is not for those who "could pull off" the larger sizes but actually prefer smaller dimensions. This poll is also not for those who wear the entire span of dial sizes (although you are welcome to comment!). Just curious about the wrists of those who strongly prefer the larger dials. The other poll is for the other end of the spectrum. Regardless of your preference, wear what you like in good health! |

BTW, I prefer the more "classic" offerings, so I'll be voting in the other poll.

Wrist size for those who prefer "modern" offerings
I would never wear a watch with a dial size of 42mm.
Now case size (which is what I think you mean), I prefer 40mm or close to it for sport watches. 39-40 being my max on either end of the range. 6.5 inch wrist circumference. |

7.25” and I like anything from 36mm and up. However, you are not taking in consideration the shape of your wrist. My wrist is roundish, so even a smaller watch will look fine. Someone with 6.75” flat wrist might prefer 40mm and up.

Wrist size for those who prefer "modern" offerings
7.25”.
I just tried on an Omega Seamaster 300mp. It has a 42mm case size and 50mm lug to lug. It fits nice on me but that’s as big as I’d go. I prefer the 40mm Submariner 114060 with a lug to lug size of 48mm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
