Black Bay 58 Blue Availability

Long time first time poster here.

I am looking to buy a Black Bay 58 blue dial to complement my 214270 Explorer. Thinking it will be a great summer watch! Can anyone shed some light on recent availability of these models at ADs? I remember when they came out last year they were quite popular but I’m hoping demand has slowed for these. If any of you guys have bought one recently, how long did you wait? I’m in NYC.

Thank you!

I have seen some in cases, but not always on a bracelet.

I would think you could pick one up fairly soon, but your area may be more difficult.

It wears a little small on my 7.25” wrist, but a nice watch.

Good luck.

I’m in Buffalo and my AD has these quite regularly. I know they had one as of last week but can’t remember if it was on a bracelet or not

If you go to WoS in SoHo, they will tell you in order to obtain a BB58, you first need “establish a relationship” as those pieces are reserved for their best customers. That’s what I was told anyway. Went to another AD not too far away and had one on my wrist the same day. YMMV.

Agreed. I live nearby and everything I go in, it seems like they don't want me around. I asked to be added to the list for one of the new releases and they said it depended on a number of factors including how many store events I've attended... whatever that means.

Anyway, I think I'll be going to another AD for the BB58.

Black Bay 58 Blue Availability

Most ADs will have them although some in “hot” spots may not have available for walk ins.

Best to call around.

Demand had not slowed. Re: Getting one from an AD... Depends on your area and market. My area, for example, completely sucks so I have never seen one in a case. The ADs treat them like allocation pieces and keep them out of sight, using them as stick-and-carrot for their usual games. Rest assured, they have them and they are in the back. These are regularly shipped out.

My advice is keep looking until you find a good AD. If none are near you, then just get it online. Trusted sellers are an option. You can also get them new from some other vendors, just be sure you'll get it with the warranty card/papers. I bought mine online (disclaimer: I have no affiliation) and it arrived in about 4 days in perfect condition, fully stickered, complete factory warranty with the new card, hang-tag/papers/manual etc. and functioning beautifully with bezel perfectly aligned and flawless dial. It only cost a small premium when factoring sales tax.

That has been my experience at 3 different Tudor AD in my area. Pitiful.

Tourneau on Madison Avenue and WEMPE on Fifth Avenue. Tell them what you want... and I'm sure you'll get it pretty quick. As others have said, WOS's reputation is less than stellar.

Wempe is where I've made purchases before and I've had a stellar experience.

In that case, give your SA at WEMPE a call... and make an appointment to come in. I would just tell him/her that you want a BB58 Blue on a bracelet and you would like to schedule a time to come in and pick one up.

That's a wonderful store... because you can also check out Patek, Lange, IWC, Cartier, etc.

I've seen them randomly in cases, should not be too bad now IMHO, but maybe not NYC.

Seen these occasionally in cases in CA as well. On bracelet they tend to move quickly, but you should be able the source from your local AD with a reasonable wait.

Black Bay 58 Blue Availability

I walked into a NJ AD 2 weeks ago. First time visiting this AD.

They had 1 Blue 58 bracelet & 1 NATO versions in the back safe. 3 black 58s were in the display case along w/ a GMT on leather.

I picked up the NATO as the bracelet was bought earlier that day.

I’m very surprised w/ this watch. Great dial size, bezel color is amazing due to not being ceramic, and under 12mm case height. The overal quality is excellent. Reminds me of my 16610 just w/o the date. An Oyster bracelet would make this an everyday watch for me. Maybe I’ll go w/ a 20mm strapcode one.

Note: the leather band is “thin, width-wise” so I bought an aftermarket plus I didn’t want blue leather.

These aren’t difficult to obtain. Grey market is pricing them maybe $200 above MSRP if that tells you anything. Basically a wash with taxes.

I agree with SP5702. If these were truly hard to obtain or had a long wait list, Davidsw, Bobs, etc... would be asking $5,500 or so.

I was on a list at the AD for one on a bracelet (I have seen a few come in on straps) for a month or so before I gave up and got a great deal on one from a reseller. I just don't have much patience. I visited my AD last weekend and he has only seen two on the bracelet this year so far. In bigger cities...probably more likely to find one. It is still a relatively hot model. One of my all-time favorite watches. Perfect size...just like a 5-digit Submariner.

It’s odd WoS at the Wynn doesn’t display them and has you register interest, meanwhile right next door at the other AD in the Venetian. All 3 variants on display.

In the UK they're now in nearly every window in all configurations. Shouldn't be hard.

I stayed at the Venetian a couple weeks back (before new releases were announced). They didn’t have the blue one in stock. They did have the black one. Maybe it was just bad timing for me. I really wanted to see one in person.

I sent this AD in St. Paul, MN an email inquiring about the BB58 in blue. Got a phone call the next day and purchased it over the phone. They were great.

That’s a shame. You must’ve missed it. The wife and I love walking around hotels after dinner. It’s a good opportunity for me to do quick browsing. We avoid the strip like the plague otherwise.

I bought a BB58 in the original black yesterday. The AD had all three variations of both colors (leather, fabric strap, metal bracelet) as well as the Tudor GMT and both colors of the Black Bay Chronos.
Mind you, I'm in an area where not many know/care about Tudor, and they only started carrying them again around the beginning of the month.

I picked up a BB58 blue last Thursday at my local AD. My AD has had a handful come through on straps but only a few on bracelets. They are definitely out there.

I dropped by an AD when I was in Florida (Feb-March) and they offered to order me the watch. They said it would take two weeks to get it. That's the first and only AD that's offered to order it for me.

Thats where I got my BB 58. I also bought it over the phone but picked it up at their Edina store so that I could get the bracelet sized.

Should be easy IMHO. Bought mine 6 March this year. More pieces in stock and displayed in the AD showroom when I walked in.I was wearing my BB58 original black when I bought the blue brother in mentioned Rolex/Tudor AD. (FWIW, I have a good relation with this AD)
