ROLEX RSC thinks this is "Patina"
Hi all
Yesterday, i posted some pics of my lume pips that I think got some dust on them....now that I think of it, it likely happened when it got serviced in November....i hadn't noticed cause i was wearing other watches and had the BB tucked away. the response from Rolex: Based on the photos provided, we do not believe this is dust/particles but in fact the unique settling of the luminous substance in the indexes. Here is the picture...... https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=799812 thoughts?

Looks like the RSC left some dust in there during the service. Not really a surprise, since I also had a few dust particles in my 114300 when I got it serviced a few years back. Since then, I've always preferred to take em to my local watchmaker.

Pictures are not conclusive. If you take a loupe you know for sure if they are talking rubbish or not.

I can’t tell anything from that picture so I’d guess RSC is taking a SWAG.
You have but two options if you wish to keep your warranty: 1) do nothing, 2) send it back for dust on dial (the plots are part of the dial). Lesson to all - always, always, always loupe your freshly returned watch from RSC if you want to claim a quick remedy for dusty dials. Or never, never, never look deeply for dust. I have the newer version of that watch (2020) and it came to me with a big speck of dust under the crystal. I sent it for warranty and they fixed it but not after scratching the case nicely ;( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
