Meteorite Daytona

As the new meteorite Daytona has been released it attracted me a lot like too many others.
I was wondering how it would look on the wrist. Gotta say that it looks better then I thought.
Below is the link I found on YouTube, enjoy it.

Is it me or maybe just the video but it looks more like a pearl dial and not as striking as the GMT meteorite dial??

7sins, I think you may be right. My hunch is the subdials interrupt the texture too much and ruin (or at least mute) the metorite effect.

Definitely not as breathtaking as the GMT meteorite. Still like it, but not the same league.

I think so too, maybe the GMT meteorite dial is visually more appealing since it is less obstructive with the lack of subdials.

I think that is the issue. The subdials break things up and detract from the natural patterns in the meteorite. Still think it’s a great reference, but wouldn’t choose it over the GMT if both were in front of me.

Yellow Gold is my favorite.
I have a feeling we wont be seeing these models hit the ADs until late in the year though

Having seen some photos on IG, I'm starting to feel more and more the full RG Meteorite is the best looking one. (I think YG against the material is washed out a bit, and ironically ceramic dial doesn't flush well against the meteorite). Obviously deeply personal opinion and all based on photos without seeing any piece in hand yet.

Gorgeous watches. Just curious, does the meteorite dial oxidize or change color over time, or are they pretty much corrosion/change-resistant just like the hands, bezel and case materials that pretty much most modern Rolex watches offer?

I think every dial may have discoloration/oxidation over the time.
Rolex must have done some protective treatment to slow this process.

That makes sense. I have yet to own a meteorite dial, but if I do I would hope that the dial maintain its luster for as long as possible.

I think when we see start seeing the white gold version on the full bracelet, it will be perfection.
