Ceramic Bezel on old Sub and GMT II?

Hi, I was wondering if you can fit the ceramic bezel on the newer models (gmt iic ans sub) on the older ones.. They appear to be the same size and the dial looks more or less the same..

is this possible?

No, it is not possible..

The design is completely different even though the basic circumference is the same..

There are also 4 holes drilled around the perimeter of the base on the new ones that hold a spring and ball bearing to give it the "click", instead of a single wire spring...

Let me qualify that and say it might be possible to press one on (but I think this unlikely).........but it would/could not be functional without some accompanying machine work....

Is the ball bearing / spring arrangement on the new Subs and GMT's, or just on the DS?

It's on the Subs....... 120 clicks.. The GMT only has 24 clicks and uses bearings in a notched race.

We have tech data here on the Sub.......

If I get a new-style sub, it would be cool to have the one-way part taken out so the bezel is bi-directional like the YM, and would still click into place...
