No i am more interested to see the bezel compared to the old one.. It seems different.. I think by the way that the matt black on the polar looks better and the orange of the hour hand is different..

Was the gloss dial confirmed? Last I read people still seemed to think it was kept satin.

The only side-by-side comparison of "live" watches (not dummies) I've seen was provided by the fellow TRF member LyijyS on a threat about the new Ex2 version.

LyijyS provided a link to this Youtube video

At 4'45" both old and new versions are seen side-by-side, making it visible how the AR coating renders the new dials look much "crisper" than the somewhat "hazy" old reference.

On the video quoted above... At 4'45" do you guys also have the impression that the steel bezel on the new reference is WIDER than the bezel on the 216570 in the middle?

The font on the polar and black watches looks larger to me, leading to a wider bezel. If the movement is on a smaller plate than the outgoing 3187, it might make sense to slightly shrink the actual dial (by 1 mm?) and avoid having a date window floating in the middle of the dial... Perhaps I am paranoid?

Yes I think you are correct on all points there.

The new model looks similar to the old one but I suspect the % shared components is low to nothing.

Hey my friend, I have not seen a great comparison of just those two watches. I was reading some great technical information that showed the differences between the generations. Definitely some good information you might like! "While the Explorer was developed for mountaineering and other rugged terrains..." https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-bl...d-wonders.html
I would say you can pick up on some great technical differences but as for a video, watch by watch comparison I would love to see that as well so let me know!
