Rolex Submariner reference 114060
Can a Rolex expert please help me with my questions, I purchased this submariner no date with a serial number that dates back to “1997-1998” why do these years come up? if my submariner is the new ceramic version? my question is I believe these ceramic submariner no dates were manufactured from “2012” to present am I correct? The serial number is on the inside of the rehaut. And the clasp where the Rolex is in black lettering is sand bead blasted, how do I know what year is my submariner no date? Any help would be appreciated!

There is no chart or database where a random serial Sub, which a ceramic version would be, can be plugged in and a manufacture date will "come up" accurately.

I’m no expert but if your serial comes up in a search to begin with.... flag......not to mention a different model. Just my $0.02

Sand bead blast inner clasps were on the first few years of the 114060. Not sure but maybe until 2015/16. I bought mine new in Nov'17 and it's fully polished

The sandblasted clasp would mean 2012-2015. I think they transitioned to a polished clasp late 2015 or early 2016.

Serial number doesn’t tell you anything on a ceramic sub. If I recall last serial’s that could be attached to a date were V serial and then they went random. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Random serials have 8 characters, can start with alpha or a numeric.
Prior to this, alpha serials (L/R thru 'G') had only 7 characters in 'total', and always start with alpha. |

Could be a coincidence but yes they’ve had random serials for a long time. I very much doubt Rolex would generate a random serial number that then appears to age a watch from before it was even made. Odd.

In 2015 I purchased a brand new 169173 from an AD in Spain and its random serial begins with G. I've seen letters appear anywhere within a random serial.

Do you think I should take it back to the jewelry store who sold it to me and try to figure this out?

Not true any Random 8 digit serial could start with any letter or even a number, no matter the year introduction.

Whatever site you used to "date" your watch is wrong

Think the OP wants to know is it’s fake or not. Could you post a picture?

Internet charts or dating apps can only be used for approximating the manufacture date for pre-2010 watches.

Can we start with the question: is the serial number 7 or 8 characters? to skip all the confusion.

If you are really worried, there are many experts here who can help you get some general sense of the authenticity. Alternatively, for a more detailed analysis (i.e., they check out the movement), you can always have the watch professionally authenticated.
