Auto winding not working anymore
My decade old YM 16622 with 3135 movement stopped working. After giving it a full manual wind it’s running for a few days and stops again.
I assume this may have something to do with the autowind mechanism or rotor. Sending it in for service and being 6 weeks without is not something I am looking forward to. Is this perhaps an easy fix, tightening a screw i.e. ? I know how to open a case and use a screwdriver or is this just a dumb idea. Hope one of the tech experts can steer me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hard to say what the problem is exactly without opening it up.
If it's a decade old you will most likely have accumulated wear and tear throughout the whole movement. As for the autowind not working, the driving wheel for ratchet could be 'broken' where the pinion has come loose from the gear itself, it is riveted together but can break. Reversing wheels could be worn out, there could be a loose screw, etc. I think it is probably time for a service after 10 years. |

This is more than tightening a screw, way above my skillset Unfortunately I need an independent instead of going through the RSC because I have a roulette date and a DJ clasp fitted and don’t like to give that up.
