Horrible experience with SohAIS
I've been lurking this site for awhile and finally decided to take the plunge and purchase my first Rolex Submariner 126610LN. As such, I wanted to purchase like new complete set. Up for sale was SohAIS' listing which was up for 7 weeks:
FSOT: BNIB Rolex Submariner Ceramic Date 126610LN 41MM Random Serial Box & Papers Everything was supposed to be included with outer box, inner box, warranty card, and serial number hang tag. All the trimmings that go with BNIB and my first unboxing experience. Transaction went smooth until I received the watch and noticed the Serial Hang Tag was missing. So, I called Aamir thinking maybe he forgot to include it. This is where things went south and each opportunity to recover was lost by digging a bigger hole. Aamir first sent a picture saying the tag was not in the picture. Despite description showing the tag was included. Despite being labeled in BNIB. Despite having confirmed the contents prior to purchase. Once I pointed this out he acknowledged he made a mistake in the description and then took his turn on the AD saying their AD that they source these watches will keep the serial hang tags and this should be expected. At this point, I felt like I was dealing with a street vendor. This is not what I expected from a Trusted Seller. In frustration, I expressed what I had anticipated was "I'm so sorry this never happens and we'll make sure this never happens again and is there anything we can do to make this better?". Then tried to explain over me that he's losing money on this 14.5K Submariner and it could sell for more than over $1k I paid for. That he had sold a used one without a box last week. I was extremely irritated at every point raised with the tone and lack of sincerity. Then asked me to hold on as he looked up his supposed losing margins and offered $75 or I could send the watch back. Aye caramba.. was ist das?! You know when you have those moments when you see young people just not get it and spelling out how you're being insulted?? The only thing missing from this discussion was a stream and some fly fishing rods. At this point of mutual animosity being asked to send back the watch to someone I don't know with only a hope and prayer I get all my money back is not even a question. I wasn't doing this twice for one transaction. And I had to explain it wasn't even about the $75 and could care less at this point; rather it was the denial and treatment. Then he got the rock salt in the final round and asked if I would accept the $75 and that I "agree that there will be no more claims". Geez luiz... I'm thinking to myself what other claims could there be other than this watch being fake? Why would I have to agree to anything? What is this legally binding that I accept a fake watch? If there were any other issues wouldn't they want to hear about it? Taking into consideration I checked everything as best as I could before calling. Enough was enough and just had to ask him to stop because there was no way for him to recover this situation and having practically ruined an entire experience dealing with the already miserable "Rolex Purchase Ecosphere" for a newbie. This thread should have been titled "Double Check Watch and Contents are as Described Before Purchasing", but unfortunately the creative story telling by Aamir made this is into a complete underwhelming experience. I want to love the watch. And I'm 99% sure the watch is real. But if you're buying a watch from him or anyone else I highly recommend doing a FaceTime and visually confirming together everything is as described to the extent possible. Lesson learned. Not sure at which point they contemplated disclosing it didn't have all the tags. When they advertised the headline as BNIB? In the item description? Seems a bit disingenuous to me. Or lackadaisical in what constitutes BNIB at best. First time buyers are already going to deal with getting over the "trust hurdle" of wiring money across the country and we're really looking for that amazing experience on that first Rolex. I won't be buying from SohAIS again in the future and hopefully my next expereince will be like some of the great reviews with other sellers I've read in this forum. Customer service really matters more when you have issues. |

Yeah, new users can't post links... nor can we upload screenshots of full texts..
Just search for BNIB Rolex Submariner Ceramic Date 126610LN 41MM Random Serial Box & Papers sold by the unmentionable. lol It's a beautiful watch no doubt. The watch itself more than lives up to my expectation and now that I had a chance to hold it in my hand I'm surprised by how dense it is. I got an itch to do a champagne unboxing tomorrow (start the day over) like "the Timeless Watch Channel" on youtube. Next watch probably a Bat Girl or the new Exporer II... though the new Root Beer might be calling my name. |

Horrible experience with SohAIS
I think I read all 8 paragraphs but to be clear this is over a white hang tag?
I don't think it is important and full set to me is watch, box, manual, and warranty card. White tag, bezel protector etc is icing.

Hello Guys,
You guys heard Waynes side of the story and here’s mine Wayne purchased a timepiece from me and the listing mentioned Serial Hang Tag and it didn’t come with it. I had acknowledged that it was my mistake right away via text and over the phone. As it was an error on the listing the timepiece didn’t come with it. It is true a lot of these ADs have been keeping the serial hang tags, I tried to explain that to him and he got really upset and thought I was feeding him BS which I wasn’t as I was being very sincere and honest. I never once told him I was losing money on the watch and send it back to me, I had simply said if you are not satisfied please send the watch back. I will provide you with the shipping label and wire once the timepiece is received. He wasn’t too keen on proceeding that route and started to talk to in an ill manner / unprofessional way. At the end to just close the deal I offered him $75 reimbursement which he just hung up the phone too. I texted me again apologizing that it was an error on the listing serial hang tag isn’t included. I can happily take a refund or reimburse you $75 please let me know how you’d like to proceed. Also if we do a $75 reimbursement please confirm and acknowledge that this is final and no further claims / refund will be made. TO which he talked to me in an very disrespectful way again. Never got a text back from him and he decided to post a negative feedback. I tried to accommodate him in every way but he didnt trust sending the watch to me but he trusted me to wire the funds first time around because of my reputation on this forum. I will leave it up to the members on the forums to decide but Wayne, my offer still stands to provide you with a shipping label for the watch to come back (as sent - brand new and unworn) once its received I will wire the funds Or $75 reimbursement- final sale Please let me know within 24hrs. Attached are screenshots of our conversation as well Much Regards Aamir |

The only thing missing here is what you wanted out of this? Besides wanting better customer service, what do you think should have been offered to you? Seems like what he offered was reasonable, but I feel like you wanted him to read your mind or something.
Edit: after reading the seller's side of the story, all I can say is this is a classic case of dealing with an unreasonable buyer. I feel sorry for the seller. |

White hang tags are about as inconsequential as this thread. Sign of the times I guess

Mistakes do happen and Aamir owned it and offered a refund. What more can he do as a seller to right the situation and all for a tag?

You know these things happen. And the way it's handled is "Im so sorry, it'll never happen again. We are not that kind of operation. We'll make it up next time. You have a fantastic piece. How do you like it?" Simple done. My response would be looking forward to the next time and this was a one off. You gotta bubble to the top no?
Instead, lame pics, excuses about an AD, and not not giving a damn on what they described. So obviously I pointed out exactly how he should have handled this situation instead of trying of pulling one over me. He took that as a ticket to talk about how much he's losing on the watch. How a used one sold for more without a box. He sure is denying it. And doesn't matter to me if anyone believes it. But it's here take or leave it. And I don't appreciate asking me if I would take $75 if I would not "file anymore claims". WTH is that? It started with an inaccuracy to just bad bad communication from a young man is how i take it is all. To be fair, its bridge under the water for me. This is a daily wear. The box and it's contents won't see the light of day. It's the attitude and how that was handled. I have nothing to hide in those texts although the phone conversation preceding all that is missing. But really it was trying to get a young man to think about customers differently. And like I said, it's my bad... I should have had a FaceTime to walk through the contents together instead of getting the "yeah yeah it's all there the x the y the z". Peace. |

It's a copy / paste error from a prior listing most likely. These dealers reuse and recycle listings so they don't have to retype from scratch every time they list a BNIB submariner.

Well SohAIS isn’t lying to you OP. Many ADs do keep the white hang tags, including mine
Seems you’re not happy, so he’s offered two options. Seems straightforward to me. |

I wanted to offer my two cents without speaking ill of anyone.
Anyone who deals with a grey dealer over the internet many miles away assumes the risk. If you want a super secure deal on a BNIB Rolex drive over to your local AD and strike up a deal. I have not purchased anything from Aamir but he did purchase my 16610LV from me years ago. He was nothing but professional, up front and delivered as promised. (Man I regret selling that watch). I wouldn’t hesitate to deal with him again or recommend him to others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Let me tell you. There’s a phone conversation not posted obviously. If he wants to deny the petty things like arguing he’s losing money and sold a used watch without a box for $15k that’s on him. That’s comical too. Bottom line Aarim, like I could learn a few things about exercising better due diligence you have something to learn about how to handle situations like this is the moral of the story. Take it for what it is. The reason why all this is up here is I let you know in more than one way I didn’t like you trying to subvert the situation. And then after all that… after all that unnecessary discussion… trying to offer me $75 for your mistake and telling me I have no more “claims” is just unprofessional.
And here's a clue. When you text me repeatedly after I say just give up: Aamir: Please confirm you are accepting $75 as a on time reimbursement for the hang tag and this way we will close the deal. Also you will have no further claims against this deal. Please confirm and I will send the funds. Suggesting that if I some serious issues with an expensive watch that I can't come to you because I accepted $75 is ridiculous. If you want to know if the deal is closed or open... we just did an online deal. I don't know what you're perspective is... but this forum is the only retribution that exists. What do you mean close the deal? You have the money and I have the watch. |

Admin: If you are going to pick/choose/delete responses, why not close the thread? I feel you shouldn't pick and choose. I responded to a quote (shredder), and poof it was gone plus the other quote from the same guy?

I have dealt with Aamir many times, and my experience has always been excellent . The best thing any dealer can do is offer a full refund which Aamir did offer. What else can you do? I had a similar situation, twice, with DavidSW, and twice David came through. Which is what any trusted dealer will do, that why the6 are trusted ; ) mistake can and will happen. What is important isn’t the mistake but how it is resolved.

Having read through this I see a listing error and $75 compensation for the missing hang tag was more than fair as I do know that some AD's have not been handing these tags over with the sale.
The serial hang tag is not in the pix but I would have expected it to be in the box and all things aside it is nice to have it. The issue I see is requiring the buyer to accept a blanket acceptance of a 'final sale no other refunds or returns' will be considered? If my assessment is correct I would not have accepted that condition.

Yeah. And I don't mean to diminish any amount of money. It's all earned. But you get to a point and you're wondering how did we get here and it's not about the small amount of money. Especially in the scheme of things. So I declined just annoyed this was going on and I think that's why the same texts came over and over again because. I think the reason why the final texts were coming is now clear based on what's posted. Eh, this too will pass... I need to get to tinkering with some straps already lol. Bulangandsons on it's way. |
