DeepSea on EBay - Looks no good, but someone bought it anyway.

Found this in a completed auctions search. If anybody has contacts, may wish to get a hold of the buyer.

Seller: 232bowrider (62)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110392965313

Sucker, err... Buyer: buyselltrade210 (215)

Pics are classical "scammer quality" blurred... but the bezel font looks WAY TOO thin to be genuine.

Also don't know why there is a Rolex Submariner booklet in the pic, perhaps to make this fakearoo more "authentic". The Deepsea booklet looks brand new, but the other booklets very tattered.

If anybody

How can you tell "buyselltrade" bought it?

Package looks good.

Seller already left a comment for the buyer.

When I purchased my Sea Dweller, the Submariner booklet was included.

Not sure if the same applies to the Deep Sea model.

the bezel looks too thin as you said, also the indents around the bezel ring are also too small and the chapter ring looks too wide,I'd say fake. The price would also have had the alarm bells ringing.

Looks like the jury returned a verdict. I told the buyer to take it to an AD the moment he got it in.

Negative feedback rating

Sucks for the buyer. But at 5900 I would say no surprise there, unfortunately.

Seller, watch and buyer (for not doing his research) should all go to DA CAN!

Side note: Read else that the buyer apparently photographed and documented the opening with the postal delivery person as a witness. If I hear anything more, will update the thread.

What are the real give aways on the replica? I thought it looked OK except for the blurry pics. The price drop led me to believe it was stolen property because I think it looks legit.
Is it getting time to have a section of real versus replica's since they are getting so darn good???

It's not just the obvious "tells"... it's the whole ad (blurry pics, etc). On this one I said the bezel font was way too thin.

Seller probably had a replica, bought the genuine article and "re-box" the replica and sell it as the real deal. Hopefully the police will be getting involved in this one, this is a clear case of fraud.
