Thoughts about AP concept on the wrist (photos)
Hi guys,
What do you think about the aesthetics of my wrist shots of the AP concept? Does it look decent? I was surprised how comfortable the watch was on my wrist but since I'm a novice a watch euthanasian I don't want serious fellows think it looks ridiculous. I'm not interested in average joes opinions but people in the watch game. Thanks! |

Looks good and fits well! At the end of the day, people have different opinions that it's too big/small. As long as you love it then it fits perfectly

You seem like a non-average joe, and this is clearly a watch for non-average joes. Looks fine, the only thing I'd think about personally is how you feel about the case height for your lifestyle and if it will get annoying.
If you would permit a second question, I would ask why you want the concept over a RM. My hunch is you'll probably be happier with RM. |

Looks perfect.
What else do you own if you say you're a novice? Nice first watch or upgrade. |

The sizing is spot on and the electric blue is top notch. If you’re in the market for a concept or similar piece, you’ll be hard pressed to find something better

Looks excellent. These are designed to wear big, and it does on you, but not overly so.
Wish I had the wrist to carry it off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

IMO an AP Concept is a much better watch technically than a similar priced RM, to start with it has a tourbillon and at that price an RM doesn’t. Half the people on the RM side of this forum are wearing watches that frankly look ugly and ridiculously oversized. However, there are also some RM wrist shots where the watch looks incredible. AP Concept all the way then. Looks great size wise. @AshAP, totally agree. Although I hazard a guess at this price point, if a collector wanted a tourbillion, they could get one budget wise. Only a question of which one among many great choices fits personal preferences best. And dare I say the CODE version is a worthy contender? *Brace for stoning!!! Or better yet maybe that limited edition new 43mm ROO. Drool.... |

If you like it and think it looks good, that should be all that matters. It's an AP, one of the top 3 watch brands on the planet so I think your safe whatever you decide. RM is an acquired taste, there is arguments for and against but in my eyes AP>RM simply as an established marque. Time will dictate if RM has long term staying power, AP has proven that it does

I own one and all I can say is that the watch is comfortable to wear to some extent. I dislike it though. It’s very thick and the sandblasted titanium case is just ugly and disproportional. I only enjoy wearing for a couple hours. That’s it. Didn’t regret buying it because I got a good bundle.

Comparison to RM 17-01TI. What do you guys think vs Concept on the wirst?
It's a hard call. I kind of like both even they are totally two different watches. |

I prefer the RM 17 in this case. While we're talking oversized watches vs RM; one most not forget about these 2 :)- they are waaaay too large for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OP that RM is stunning and looks really good on your wrist there is no doubt about it. Out of interest how much is it?

@AshAP I think it was $198k when it initially came out, not sure about the current price. OP there could be a 42mm Concept at some point similar size to the black panther if you feel this is too large but this is all speculation to be honest Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They offered me this as a new client piece. Pretty crazy that you need to buy half-million dollar watch first and then you can buy a 100k watch. |

A quick internet search suggests it’s currently around $500k. My preference with these 2 watches is the RM.

I’m not a diehard RM fan, but between those two, I’d def go RM.
For me, I like designing collections defined by different cases/platforms. And I find the RM more special as an addition to the collection than the concept. I also find the code case platform more appealing than the concept as well FWIw purely in athestics as a personal taste. And of course there are money considerations, but at this amount I’d rather go without then get something second to my preference. |

I’ve been told by a Vacheron Constantin watchmaker that the entry level RMs have very cheap movements whereas my understanding is that the movement in the RM that the OP is interested in is a Renaud et Papi movement which is at the pinnacle of watchmaking.

Interesting to know but hardly surprising. A look at their movements under the loupe doesn’t reveal much in terms of handwork - everything is sandblasted to remove the CNC rawness |
