Changes- SOTC
I’ve loved watches since I was little and always bought various digital watches as a kid and later quartz mechanical ones.
I joined TRF nearly 7 years ago with a couple of vintage pieces and tt Submariner and what changes there’s been; both in the market place and my feelings towards watches I own. Firstly I’m glad about all the watches I’ve owned and sold and have no regrets. The most underwhelming piece was a 16610 and if I could have one of them back it would be a 1665 (which got too valuable to wear comfortably). Just prior to the first lockdown, my last Rolex went to fund a late tritium Speedmaster and during those lockdowns, I really started to look at my small collection. Out went a Panerai 233 to fund a watch I lusted after in the 90s; a Franck Muller Master Calendar, and then a Seamaster 300 for an early Panerai Base as I missed having a Panerai, but not the complications. The Speedmaster is staying! So, here, finally I feel I’ve got it covered (for now); Dress, Vintage, Daily. There’s also a couple of G-Shocks for gardening/car washing.

Nice watches. I also like FM early on. I have never owned one but maybe one day if I can come across one in person that works for me.

Thank you
A bit like Panerai, you need to try them. I’ve had 2 larger models from the 888x range. Very comfortable with the curved case but too big now. This 6850 model is just right for slipping under a shirt sleeve, has fantastic complications and the best bit is a 20k watch for a quarter of that!

Great trio, there is nothing like the journey and fun of maturing your tastes and fine tuning your collection as you go.

No, it’s stainless steel, but it would be superb in gold.
