Thoughts on the rubber strap?

Hi, newish member here.

I saw the forum is a but divided on aftermarket straps, but I gave it a go.

Pictured here is the 126613LN with RubberB straps (Everest doesn’t have 21mm lug straps yet it seems).

I dig the new look and feel!

It looks good but I always prefer the metal.

Looks great! I personally prefer the white Everest on my 114060, but the black looks great on your two tone sub.

I'm not a big fan of rubber straps. They are dirt cheap to make, should be cheap to buy (but often aren't!) , have no real artistic design elements or manufacturing skill that sets then apart, smell bad when you sweat and remind me of the cheap watches I wore in the 70s when my parents were too poor to buy me anything better (but wanted to buy me something as a gift anyway). They don't look bad at all but I think a Daytona or Sky Dweller deserves better if I'm going to pay 30 to 40 K for a PM timepiece.

Yup, metal is indeed the “official” experience and I dig it as well.

I hear ya. I always have the option of switching back and forth, so trying to have a bit of fun with it. The strap on a skydweller does feel slightly out of place to me also, but looks cool too!

I like leather, rubber, and even nylon straps. Just not on a Rolex watch. Nobody does bracelets like Rolex and for me it's the only way to go with Rolex. But that's just me. Folks should try whatever floats their boat.

Makes sense! I do find their bracelets to be excellent! What are your thoughts on Rolex’s oysterflex or leather straps?

Thanks! It wears much more casual now and really expands the use case imo.

It's nice to see that some like the look but for me, I will go against the grain here and state that a rubber strap on a gold or two-tone watch doesn't work at all. To me, it cheapens the appearance of the watch. Save them for the Seikos and G Shocks.

Had a rubber b for about 2 weeks and couldn’t wait to get back to oyster. Pics look so much better than actual experience for me unfortunately. Now off to the for sale section lol.

I’d just throw my watch on a nato next time if I want to feel like James Bond.

Agreed! Though James Bond preferred ss in the books - nato is a sean connery thing. :)

Just got my Rubber B in this past Friday. Loving it so far:

I got a thing for rubber straps, so yours looks awesome to me. Don't worry about the critics, if we all liked the same things, this would be a really boring world.
