Does the BB58 bronze clasp articulate??
When the BB58 Bronze was released, I was a little underwhelmed at first. The idea of wearing a bronze watch does not excite me. I still find this material to be experimental and impractical. The real excitement, however, stems from the upgraded clasp which now features a much-desired tool-less microadjust, the so-called "T"-system, offering 8 mm in four 2-mm increments. A mini-glidelock, so to speak. A feature which really elevates this watch and will hopefully be added to the remaining BB58 offerings.
Having said that, I simply assumed that Tudor did not fix the biggest flaw in their clasp... the lack of articulation at the 6 o'clock position. This design fault results in a very bulky clasp that does not contour well to the undersurface of a smaller wrist, and also pinches and pulls on hairs. For me, that was a deal-breaker for the clasp/bracelet. But upon closer inspection, I think the BB58 Bronze clasp has fixed this problem too! It looks like there is a new, gentle slope to the clasp at the 6 o'clock position (see attached profile). I believe this will allow for functional articulation and let the clasp contour to the wrist without pinching any hairs. Can anyone with the bronze bay 58 confirm if this is the case??? I really hope Tudor updates the bracelet across the entire BB58 line and allows us to order steel versions of this significantly improved design. |

For those that don’t understand the problem, here is a picture to illustrate the issue that the OP is talking about when referring to a non articulating link on the current black bay series of bracelets.

Thank you for that excellent image which shows the problem perfectly. The original steel clasp depicted here has a very flat interface at the endlink, but the new bronze one has a slope there, so I think it would articulate now, just not sure.

Looks like the issue has been fixed with the new clasp. The non-articulating link was my biggest complaint about the BB58 bracelet, which never seemed to fit my wrist too well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for replying!! Hallelujah!!! They fixed it!!!! Looks like they implemented the same design as the Tudor North Flag bracelet. See?? Tudor does listen to customers!!! They fixed 2 problems with the redesign! The non articulating link, AND the lack of micro adjustment! Can’t wait for the redesign to be disseminated across the rest of the Black Bay line. Bravo Tudor Bravo! |

SWEET. Thanks for that very helpful gif. It is articulating now. PLUS the quick-adjust, what a fantastic upgrade to the clasp. Kudos to Tudor for fixing the ONLY fault I found with the BB58.
I sure hope an updated steel bracelet gets released, I will be eagerly 1st in line for that. |
