Full Monty of Rolex Explorers Achieved.

Finally achieved the Full Monty of Explorers picking up the new Explorer 36mm at the weekend.

Slightly concerned the new 36mm would be too small but after the first few days I’m feeling it could be the best watch I’ve ever worn - high praise indeed.

Still in the honey moon period but basically I’m in-love infatuated besotted smitten love-struck… enamoured.

Nice! I'm also slightly concerned the 36 is too small, but certainly the new ExpIIs are too large for my preference (even though it looks great).

Wow, that is really badass reference collection. These offer so much more in terms of wear and aesthetics than than a diver trio. I do prefer the 39mm mk2 though, 36 is too small for me.

That's why this forum is dangerous, it's subconscious advertising. Now Explorers are back on my radar, damn you.

Cheers. Thing about wearing watches is that no matter what size you wear it will becomes normal. I too was worried about size of bigger watches but eventually I got used to them. What I would say about smaller watches like this 36mm is that it just melts into the wrist and i never notice it. Im sorta digging that at the moment.

Well done, but you're really only down to your waistcoat, trousers and socks. Many more items still to take off. I really fancy the 1655 but the prices are mouthwatering.

From your headline of the thread “Full Monty of Rolex Explorers Achieved” I thought you were walking around naked with your watches. Thank G-d they were wrist shots.

for me ABSOLUTLY OK if you have 36mm on 8" wrist , but NO WAY if you have 6-6,5" and you have 40 and up size , its look like my watch in my 6Yr son .

Steve, you are the coolest dude on TRF!!! The Explorer line has always been my favorite and I'd love to have all 4 one day. Just outstanding. I know the new Explorer is going to get more wrist time because it's new, but how often do you wear each of these on an average month? Do you ever switch them out mid-day? Will you add the two tone Explorer?

A 36mm Rolex is never a bad choice.

Your sense is correct. It took me almost two weeks to get used to a non-huge watch. But now, the Explorer 36mm is by FAR my favorite watch.

Nice collection, but to me the full Monty would also include a 39mm MkI and MkII and an earlier 36mm.

As a MkI owner, I’m of the opinion it is the best of the lot - versatile, durable and discreet, although that new 36mm is fabbo
