Incoming...with dilemma

I have been on a waitlist for a no date sub for around 5 1/2 months. I got the call this morning and I am not sure what do -- call it a good problem. My no date sub has came in but they also received 3 others and I have first choice at what I want. They received in 126610LN, 124060, 126610LV & 126613LB. I am not interested in the SS/PM blue so it is between the other 3. My heart is telling me to take the no date but everything else is telling me to take the Cermit.

What do I do?! I know the Cermit holds a significantly higher resale value and could essentially buy that, sell it and with the profits have enough to buy the no date. Only issue is they will not let me purchase more than 1. This is also my first Rolex and want something that will be a daily wear. I feel like the green bezel restricts how often I could wear it.

Am I overthinking this? Take the no date and be happy?

If you pick the No Date, that will demonstrate you are passionate about what you ask for and if you ask for something else in the future they may allocate something to you.

That being said, I don't see how you could turn down the LV.

Yes you are. Just get the cermit and call it a day.

Edit: Actually upon second thought, if you really need to think about it, pass on the cermit so someone who really wants it can get it

Stick with what you ordered.

Definitely don’t buy the LV and sell it. You’ll not be able to get what they sell for at greys. It’ll just be a headache. Just get what you ordered and be happy with it.

It's not really about the money, but I have been offered 17,500 for the watch already. Considering I would pay ~10,250 after taxes, a no date sub at 8600 after taxes would only cost me around 1500 (if I could get it at MSRP).

I am not opposed at all in buying the LV and wearing it. Haven't tried it on yet so who knows. My heart has been set on the 124060 since they released the 41mm version.

Take the no date.

1. If you take the Cermit you will remain unsatisfied and regret it
2. Tell the AD to offer the Cermit to someone who wants it more than you. They'll remember you for future opportunities.

Buy what you ordered and want. It will lead to more watches in the future with you sticking to your word and what you ordered. My pops always told me a man is nothing without his word and handshake.

Just get the watch your heart is telling you to get - aka the one you want and like the most.

Honestly, I think the Cermit is totally overrated and a major downgrade from the Hulk.

Anyway, I’d get the ND sub. None of the others would sway my opinion in a different direction.

Buy the LV. Give it a chance. If you don’t like it, flip it and buy a no date.

Just be willing to accept potential consequences from AD finding out

Buy the watch you want to wear, not what is hot.

If the Submariner is the watch you want then ignore the rest and get it on your wrist.

Having made the initial purchase, you can always go back and ask you AD to get you one of the others at a later date.

99% believe (or pretend to believe) that you should not buy a watch simply because it is “harder” to get.

However… if you grab the LV, you may fall in love. Or, you may still desire the 124060, in which case you can easily swap to 124060 with no extra $ out of pocket.

Call it a potentially profitable trial run. I’d go LV even if I am advocating to go with heart over wallet.

The Sub 124060 is the do it all watch, go for it. It’ll serve you better as a daily. The wait time for this is getting longer and getting harder to come, so don’t miss it.

Depends if you asked for the no date because you thought that would be "easy" to get or because it was really what you want.

For example, I am "waiting" for an Exp2. While I really do want it, it's not my favorite SS rolex, in a similar (MSRP) price range I'd take a pepsi or daytona over it for sure if offered, but I don't think those are realistic asks at the moment so I didn't bother asking. Ultimately, I'd love to have them all.

I'd take the green sub myself here. But if you don't like it, don't bother. You may see very high prices for it, but that's not really what YOU can get for it. The margin here after all is said and done with lost sales tax, shipping/insurance, paying the grey premium for the ND you buy, etc likely isn't worth the hassle or bad karma.

Go see in person, then decide based on emotion of what you feel once you see size, color against skin, etc. You either love the green bezel or hate it.

I'm in the ugh camp personally, but can understand and appreciate those that like the pop of green.

Get the LV and later on get the no date. You can get that easier than the LV.

It's pretty simple, buy the one you want the most after trying them both on.

Take the one that sings to you the most.

For me, I love them all, so I have all of them but if they let me pick only one, I would go for Kermit II first.

Get what you actually wanted, which seems to be the Sub (or maybe the Sub Date). I agree with you you that the Cermit will not be as versatile colorwise. Pass on it, and hopefully it will go to someone who will make it a keeper. Best wishes

Take the one that really speaks to you. If, upon further review and having seen all three pieces you change your mind, take whatever they allow you to take.

I guess I would ask why did you first sign up for the no date sub? Just because you thought you could get it? Did you really want an LV but assumed you had no chance?

if so i'd explain that and buy the watch you really want and call it a day
