My IWC pilot is on leather. Thoughts on the steel bracelet?

I love the IWC pilot watches and chronos on the bracelet.

I am thinking of trying the bracelet on my watch. I think that the OEM goes for about a thou.

Pilot watches, IWC or otherwise, should be on leather or NATO.

Keep on leather.

It goes well with leather and nylon strap.

Metal could work on Pilots but I don't think its meant to have one so there will be a noticeable gap between lugs and watch if you put one on. Maybe someone has something out there that "mostly" fits.

The bracelets, like nearly all IWC bracelets, brilliant. Super easy link removal, nice dual trigger release and push button micro adjustment. You can hear Tim explain it better around the 1:30 mark... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sdDZN-ATkY The Mk18 is a stunner on leather or metal.

I have had a Mark XV on the pyramid bracelet for nearly 20 years and love it. Bought the watch on leather and added the bracelet a few years later from ebay or sth. Not cheap, but very comfortable and easily adjustable.
Haven't put it back on the strap since I've had the bracelet which works much better for me as I use the watch as my do everything tool watch / beater. Swimming, cycling, hiking, working on the bike, preflight checking aircraft, pretty rough stuff at times. When people praise the Royal Oak or Nautilus bracelets for superior comfort I am always smiling as my Mark XV is right up there with my 5711 in terms of comfort if not more comfortable. So yes, I'd go for it. |

I like the leather or nylon. However, it's yours! You make you happy.

I think IWC pilot watches look much better on straps.
The lugs look much better with straps than the endlinks on the bracelets. |

Most people are used to seeing this IWC watch with leather or nato straps but I personally think it would be classic with bracelet.

IWC bracelets have a great reputation for being comfortable. I'd love to add an IWC PIlots to my rotation and would have a hard time not getting a bracelet.

I bought my IWC pilot mostly for the Santoni strap. I've owned the XVI bracelet twice, it's very well made & the spring loaded links are cool, but I got tired of the look. Not sure why but the beads of rice type bracelet not a great match IMO.
