I am sure, that once the senior management of Rolex in Geneva heard about this post from Chewbacca, they immediately got to work and are designing the aforementioned model as we speak.

If the SD43 is any indication of how your proposed piece would feel on the wrist, It’d be a hard pass for me. Already ungainly the SD43 and the DSSD is one notch higher in uncomfortableness…

Did you try them? SD43 has a reputation of discomfort while DSSD has a reputation of being surprisedly easy to wear.

Between the Submariner, the SD43 and the DSSD I think it is covered by Rolex.

Yes it’s not even close. DSSD blows away the SD43 in terms of comfort imo. Largely has to do with the improved titanium caseback of the DSSD, but its superior Glidelock is also impressive.

It’s been done and called the SD43. The case back needs reworked and broadened to spread out its weight for better comfort. It just needs a DSSD style case back.
Rolex made the current Submariner perfect at 40.7 mm. Many initially lost her mind when it was officially called it a 41mm Submariner. The Sub41 is a gift from Rolex in this rare occasion of listening to all their clients request. It’s “perfect”.

I want the DSSD so much that I actually asked the SA to remove me from GMT and put me on DSSDJC. She looked at me like I was a complete idiot. But I know what I want.

I own both and I disagree. Seven inch wrist here. I find that my JC is very comfortable while very substantial, the SD43 is definitely lighter and even more comfortable. It feels like the baby brother of the JC. of course results may vary.
