Is a small amount of bezel back play normal?

I have a 2021 SD43 and when I turn the bezel clockwise, it has a tiny amount of play (would say half a click). Is that normal or should it stay lock tight rock solid with no back play? I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid.

Thanks!

With most all of the ceramic type inserts there will be a tiny bit of play as they sit of 3 ball-bearings and a spring loaded click-stop.

All ceramic bezels will have a tiny bit of back play. Its normal.

As Padi said above that construction on 6 digits is different to the 5 digits.

124060 is nice and tight

16610 it has a smidge but "locks in" nicely where it should.

A little play - it's always been there.

My BB58 doesn't have any (well maybe a very, very tiny bit). It's also brand new, so maybe there'll be some in a year or two?

My 14060 from 1996 has a tiny, tiny little bit of back-play. I can hardly sense it. That's the was it's always been. Perfectly normal, I think. Nothing to worry about!

Some Rolexes do have a tiny bit of free play, don't worry.

Thanks guys! Looks like some do and some don't. Seems like Rolex is not very consistent in this area just like the direction the logo points on the crown.

Before joining TRF two years ago IŽd never been aware that "the direction the logo points on the crown" could be an issue! No need to worry about this either, it just doesn't matter! It's just another thing for people to obsess unnecessarily about...ask any watchmaker! You have a great watch...do enjoy it!
