Question for the experts

I know that one of the reasons for adding ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX on the rehaute was as an anti-counterfeiting measure. That said, have you guys seen any fakes with the ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX rehaute? I try to browse through WatchOut!! every day and haven't noticed any (at least none that jump out at me) but was curious what the experts have seen.

Thanks.

Hi Chris,

There has been a few found in the past and have been proven fake, but there are many other mistakes in these productions, its hard to go into great detail as many of these fake producers would frequent TRF as guests and get valuable information from us here to use on perfecting counterfeit wares.

I think we have come across a couple subs in the past, I remember one that even had a serial until I found the same watch on trustytime with the same serial, eg:

We have spotted a couple of these watches in the Watchout section but as you say are difficult to retrieve at this point based on a basic word search of "fake rehaut."

Some of the listings we identified did not have the engraving aligned and/or spaced evenly (up/down and side to side) i.e. the engraving/rehaut on an authentic Rolex aligns to the minute markings in most of the watches (although I have seen a small misalignment on some authentic ones as well).

The replica sites also refer to fakes as having a rehaut "band" that joins at one point inside the watch. I have not seen this patching on any photos though.

Excellent. Thanks for the information. I have been trying to learn to spot fakes, hoping to someday be able to contribute to this section of the Forums, but my ability to spot fakes is pretty limited. This is good information to have. Thanks again.

No sweat Chris

a good thing to look out for is the description too, incorrect model numbers or lack of information, I think I speak for all the guys here on TRF, if I was going to sell any of my watches I would go overkill on the photos and description :-)
