Consignment fees
I would like to consign my watch to a grey dealer. What is the average or market rate for consignment fees for Rolex #116613LB?
Thanks in advance. |

I’ve seen 10% - 30%. You really need to sell to go consignment IMHO. Make sure you have paperwork up the ying/yang

Wow, if consignment fees are 10-30%, what’s the advantage of consignment to a grey vs selling to a grey? Well, I do understand for harder to sell brands or for very expensive (more than a standard Rolex price I mean) watches where the buyer will need to “buy the seller.”

I’ve never sold a watch (haven’t bought many either though). I imagine this would be akin to the first time one sells a car. It’s probably best to find a friend/colleague/etc that has done so before and ask them for their honest opinions/experiences.

I think most greys prefer to just make you an upfront cash offer on most Rolexes. I think they typically use the consignment model for pieces that require a special buyer and they may have to sit on it longer.

I do not consign watches. Contact the Trusted Sellers here on TRF and see what they will offer you. Most consignment fees are at least 10% if not higher. Get your cash and move on. Too many potential issues with once you give the watch to a consigner. No need with a Rolex.
