DD40 YG - BAGUETTE DIAL - champ or black

Finally pulling the trigger this week.

Originally was gunning for the champagne baguette dial, but now the black has grown on me as well.

Help me decide which one is the one. Pictures may help

Tough as they are both stunning. I’ve always like the monochromatic look of the Champ so thats what I bought… but lately the black has been on my radar. I just kinda feel DayDates should have a champ dial. Iconic.

Champagne has a razor thin advantage. Being the tiniest bit more neutral with clothing choices.

I’d go with the black dial based on better legibility

Hello dmitrii, hard call. I'm in the same boat, thinking of adding a YG 40 Baguette. I go back and forth, regarding the same question. I think the black pops more and is more youthful, while the champagne is more subdued, but a die-hard classic to the DD line. In my mind both winners, If I pulled the trigger today, black. Tomorrow, I might give champagne a drive, never had a champagne dial, could be my first. Help me out as well, share your final decision with us, and good luck.

I’m super bias- in my humble opinion black is
more timeless, elegant, & classy

Just got Daytona with champagne dial. Pictures don't do justice to this dial. It's absolutely amazing.

I prefer the contrast of a different colored dial on the DD. Of the 2, I'd go black.

Of the two, black dial. The YG DD40 with champagne dial is just too much gold IMO. It somehow works on the 36 but there’s something about the 40mm that’s just too rich for my eyes. Add some color to the dial to cut through the gold a bit.

I like both but gave the edge to champagne for the classic looks and I do not need another black dial watch.

Champagne can be dressy or casual IMO…..goes with anything. The baguettes don’t stand out as much and tones it down a bit. The black with baguettes just looks very dressy (all the time) to me. YMMV

^^^ this.

As much as I loooove the black dial, the mid goes Champaign due to higher 'diversity' in use/wear.

I prefer the champagne dial version slightly. Both are great though.

I assume you already have a few black dial watches, so I would recommend variety and go with the champagne dial.

If YG I’d go champagne but I’ve gone for WG with silver dial and baguettes due Xmas this year and I cannot wait to feel the President bracelet.

I swapped out my champagne diamond dot dial for a green one, black also looks good
It needs the contrast in my opinion, champagne dial is too monotone and also looks very old fashioned and dated
