Bought a used 114300, gaining about 7-8 Seconds / Day
Hey all! I purchased my first Rolex last week, Dark Rhodium 114300. It's a 2020 model with box and papers, I've only had it for about 5 days now, worn every day, and it's pretty consistently losing 7-8 seconds daily. It's still under warranty for 3+ years, is this something you would take in for?

Frustrating but yeah. That's losing too much time.

What position are you putting the watch at night? Generally speaking, dial up is the most positive in terms of gain. All my gainers I store crown up at night to slow them down a bit. 5 days is also not very long. I might reset if I were you and give it another week to wear in to your habits. |

When you say reset, do you mean let the power run out and then wind up, or just resync the time and wait and see? |

I would give the watch a full wind (40-50 turns), reset the watch to the exact second and then start charting its performance over a week or so.
As for wearing a watch to bed, I only did it when I was an alcoholic traveling salesman and didn’t think I could remember to grab it in the middle of the night if the hotel caught on fire. Now it simply goes on the dresser. |

1 minute per week doesn’t bother me

Not weird but you could keep knocking it into things in your sleep, a couple of heavy knocks could effect the time keeping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it’s gaining, it’s likely magnetized. Get a cheap de-magnetizer and it’s good to go. When my sub (16610) gets magnetized it goes from +1-3 per day to +6-12 per day. It’s subtle but noticeable and fixed in 10 seconds. If it’s loosing time, idk. But that not terrible and would wear it for a while and then send it in to be looked at.
