Help please! Correct insert 5513 mk1 maxi

I have posted on this before recently but getting confused and would like a definitive answer if possible?
I have a 1978 mk1maxi dial submariner 5513, original dial, hands, bracelet, clasp but a service bezel insert.
Having done some research thanks to replies on here it seems most likely to have been a mk5.1 or mk6.
Equally when viewing listings of 1978 5513s for sale many say it has the "correct" mk3 insert fitted but according to my research that was much earlier in the mid 1960s and not still used by that time.
Does anybody know the answer please?
I'd really like to buy the correct insert asap and obviously want to get it right!

I guess the dart board guesses are not as good.

You should be more than fine with a Mk-3 on your watch.

In fact, some folks can't tell the difference between and early Mk-4 and call them Mk3. Go figure..

Different people use different numbering schemes, so I don't recommend going by what a seller tells you. Study the correct insert from the Xeramic thread and use that knowledge to make sure you buy the right one. You can post a photo on the forum for confirmation.

I think either the Mk 5.1, 5.2 or 6 insert from the Xeramic guide would be appropriate for your watch.

To be honest, I'm struggling to differentiate the 5.2 from the 5.0, but for 5.1 and 6 the shape of their "4s" in the "40" is quite distinctive. After you look them it for a bit, you should be able to identify inserts based on that alone.

The old nomenclature of calling everything after the long 5 a "Mk3" is outdated in my opinion and you should look to Xeramic's incredible guide as the source of truth, ignoring anything sellers tell you.

You're correct that the current insert is a service insert.

I'm not sure on the dial to be honest, but I have some doubts based on the shape of the coronet compared to other Mk1 maxis. Would it be possible to post a closer shot with none of the text obscured by the hands? A UV shot would also be helpful.

Is that a crack at 1'o clock on the crystal ?

Yes, scratch on plexi crystal, I'm not too concerned about that though

I could only get part of the watch under my uv and take the photo

Dial is not good I'm afraid. Has been refinished and relumed. I would not expect the lume to show green under UV on these late 70s subs. I would ask the seller for a refund if it's been sold to you as an all-original dial.
