With all the Rolex shenanigans........

What other brands are you considering or buying instead. I would think Omega and Tudor must be doing well.....

Rolex.

Nothing will scratch the itch permanently, IMO. If it’s what you want, it’s what you want.

Agreed wondering the same. Seeing as how it will be a long time before I get a 124060 at and AD trying to figure out what to buy in the mean time.

People are playing shenanigans not Rolex.

I always look forward to new Tudor releases! I don’t necessarily buy them because they’re mostly new variations of black bays and I already have an OG ETA. But if the next one is a Pelagos variant... I may be interested

I was after a no date sub or explorer 2, but couldn’t get hold of one at an AD. I don’t want to buy gray. So I bought a Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich. Amazing watch- actually can’t stop wearing it, and staring at it!

A lot of brands have seen a surge in their demand and the ability to get discounts is dwindling. Omega is a good example.

Many are doing well, including Bvlgari for their impressive Octo FS series. Quite a few independents to choose from. Sure Tudor and Omega are obvious choices. Cartier is a nice classic style.

Just received an orange G Shock for fun.

I’d always do a Panerai love them. That’s really the only other brand I buy outside of Rolex.

Try AP and PP. That’ll have you running back to Rolex in no time.

For me, the current state of the market is just making me sit back, smile, and enjoy my current collection more than ever.

(BTW, there’s no Rolex shenanigans going on. Just a hot brand in the hottest of markets.)

If folks think the current Rolex market is fueled by shenanigans, then a high school economics class should be on the agenda. Too many people with disposable income want them, and are willing to pay market price. If you are unwilling to pay it, by all means consider other options.

I popped in to my Rolex AD today, I have had my name down for over a year on a few models. Because of the policy change they said I had no chance of the 124060 Sub I wanted as I have no previous spend record with them and the Oyster Perpetual I have listed they are recording 36 expressions of interest per week for; just one AD in god knows how many, so how can Rolex service demand, then there’s the 214270 Explorer I wanted but that is now discontinued. I seriously think I have better odds of giving birth. Glad I bought my DSSD off SC and always rue the day I sold my 214270. Where do we go next? I kind of think Tudor, Omega and Grand Seiko; or maybe a Casio?

I need to expand my horizons ... whenever I see an interesting independent I'm intrigued but a bit hesitant about servicing.

I have a great Rolex duo, comprising of a DJ41 and a Submariner which I am very happy with, if any more come along thats great but its not the end of the world if I don't add anything else to the Rolex family.

In addition I also have a nice Omega trio of a Seamaster, Speedmaster and Railmaster, plus watches from Longines, Oris and Seiko. I am open to buying watches I like irrespective of brand, yes another Rolex is on my radar but I understand the current supply v demand issue so if the watch doesn't materialise its not the end of the world.

With all the Rolex shenanigans........

I just snagged one of the last pieces of the discontinued 41mm TAG Heuer Aquaracer with ceramic bezel from an AD. Couldn’t be more pleased. Might even displace my SUB as a daily wear.

I’ve been considering and buying other brands all along. Why would one limit oneself to one brand?

I’d figure out which Speedmaster to get if the choice was $40k for a SS Daytona, or which VC (with the multiple straps) to get. I’d really have to educate myself as I understand Omega makes a lot of variations, but no way would I be spending gray market prices on a Daytona today. And I’m a guy who counts my Daytona as one of my favorite purchases ever.
