Ladies Rolex Marconi, circa 1939-1940
Hello All. New to the forum. I have a Ladies Rolex Marconi, circa 1939-1940. The provenance is known as it was given to my mother by her "Then Fiancé", around the beginning of the war. Then my dad came on the scene and that was the end of "Eric". I don't believe it is of high value. Probably purchased in the London England area. It's a "wind up" and it works.

That looks to be a nice example of a 9ct gold hinged case watch and I'd be interested in seeing some photos of the hallmarks and other marks inside the case back, and also some of the movement.
The watch was originally sold by James Walker Ltd, a large retail jewelry group with many stores in the London area. Just as an aside, the loops on the case where the bracelet attaches seem to be getting a bit thin so it might be worthwhile getting a jeweler to replace them if the watch is going to be worn much. |

Thanks. It hasn't been worn since the early 1970's, perhaps late 1960's. Dad bought her an Omega ladies watch. I remember mum had it repaired once in London.
