Why Daytona 116500 black receive lesser love..

Hello everyone! I understand due to the colour contrast, the panda dial somehow looks better than the black one. As much as the hype all around the white dial my heart still went with the black and pulled the trigger, nv regret since. Something about the black dial with the silver sub dials and red “Daytona” is so sexyyy. Hahaha what do you guys think? Or preferred colour? Don’t get me wrong. I think both colours are just as nice 😊

I think the black one looks significantly better than the white one.

Well, there will always be a winner and a loser, but with these two, they're very beautiful so you can't go wrong if you have the chance.

I prefer the black, too. I like how the bezel blends into the dial.

Great choice!

Long term...black always over white. IMHO.

White are arguably rarer. At least that’s what the secondary market thinks. In today’s watch world the price and perceived rarity trumps logic.

On a purely aesthetics basis I have both and feel that they wear differently. The black is more subdued and sophisticated, while the white feels a little more youthful.

Just my opinion which may differ (and probably will) from other posters

I’m on my 4th SS Daytona. Had a white 16520, both colors of 116520, and now a black 116500. It is what I asked for because I like it better.

White dial has best contrast with black sub dials. The sub dials echo the black ceramic bezel, thus a better balanced dial

However the previous gem was a winner in both colours because the silver sub dials echoed the stainless bezel.

Have both ,they remain small in size and big in market value .

I never tire of black dials and use white dials as occasionals .

As a white dial,I think the 116500LN white is a masterpiece .Very well balanced design .Perfect .
The black presents very well on the wrist .

Its a 50/50 story, almost like a last lap on a grandprix circuit with everything at stake .

Black is dressier, white sportier.

I personally like the black dial version of the 116500LN over the white. I liked the white dial more than black with the 116520 model.

Don’t worry about aftermarket or speculation with prices, but what you personally like more.

Totally agree on what you guys just mentioned. I think it’s always difficult to choose between this two dial colour. Just felt that whenever ceramic Daytona got mentioned, it’s always the white even YouTube videos hahaha

Personally prefer the black dial. The white dial is definitely more photogenic for the Instagram flex, but in person and on the wrist the black is the winner in my books.

It's due to hype. Prefer the Black, but don't prefer the Daytona. Add a date complication and we're getting somewhere.

I chose the black and it had nothing to do with it being cheaper (market value). Chose it because I prefer it.

I have both and personally feel the black looks much nicer in person. Both are great, but the black, for me, sees way more wrist time.

+1

I'm waiting to see a Chronomaster Original- great history, right size, with date.

With all the hype surrounding the Daytona, then the notion of one being less "loved" is a stretch. Compare it to a 34mm Pearlmaster and we can take a discussion

I was never a Daytona fan until I had a chance to try the Black on and after resisting due to the hype around these, I relented and requested one. I said I would take either if offered but since my entire collection is Black thought that this would be the right watch to go white.
I honestly expected to get a call for a Black since they seem more available but was offered the white a couple of weeks ago. I love it!
I would happily have enjoyed the Black but the white worked out for me…

I own both and prefer the black dial. The white dial is more unique with less of the white dials being produced across all of the product line, not just Daytona's. I have a thing for black dial watches and have to work at getting other colors into the collection.

It's all because of the contrast between the white dial and black bezel. More of a striking look. Both are beautiful but the white really stands out the most.

Black is my preference by a wide margin. The white feels to preppy to me. Great if you like golf-type style look and feel

this is like the tenth time i've said it but black is a better one and only, white is better in a collection.

Both sporty, but black pulls off the "dress look" better IMO.

I also go crazy with different bracelets, straps, rubber bands, etc. While white looks great with everything, black has that OEM look regardless of what strap/bracelet you pair with it.

It's simply more versatile. That said, I choose white, but again it's only cause I'll never be a one and only kind of guy lol.
