Paypal/Ebay Claim experiences...ANYONE?
Just wondering if any of you guys ever had to file a claim with Paypal, either as a seller or buyer, after selling or purchasing a Rolex (or other expensive watch/jewelry item) at an Ebay auction? And if so, what was the outcome?

...all I can say...GREAT...
...besides messing around w/Rolex stuff, I am a small time stamp collector.
...I won an AUCTION for a rare US #1 "cover" on 7 May, from a seller in Canada. I specifically asked for REGISTERED MAIL. ...paid on 7 May w/PPal. ...seller said he mailed the NEXT day. ...this was AN OUTRIGHT LIE, as he mailed it on 12 MAY (5 days after paying). ...anyway, after waiting 3 weeks w/NO stamp rec'd, I messaged him. He went out of country to Europe for a vacation and will NOT be back until 14 Jun. I told him I would give it a few more days. ...on/about 1 Jun I filed a dispute (not a claim). ...a few days later I receive a message from eBay saying to contact them on a specific telephone#, which I did. I explained my situation of non-receipt and EBAY (NOT PayPal) refunded the FULL amount of $660.00 to my PPal acct on 8 Jun!!! DOES NOT GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!! ...9 June, guess what shows up at my house...the damned stamp. ...I called eBay and told them what happened and told them I will return the stamp after 14 Jun, the seller's return date. ...here is where it gets really interesting...eBay said I had NO OBLIGATION to return the stamp at this point!!!! I told them I am an honest person and could not live with myself if I kept it. Even offered to send the stamp to them, since eBay were the ones to refund ME the $-they said no. ....I cannot say enough about BUYER PROTECTION!!! |

Great to see they backed someone.. Seems like there many bad luck stories with refunds and other wrong deals.

I've had to file several (Rolex Watch) claims through paypal. Always get my...
money back. They stand behind their word. If you do enough business with ebay and paypal each month they realize your legit. I talk to ebay and paypal several times a week and know half of the customer service team. If for some reason i have any doubt about something coming in I always call them and let them know ahead of time so it goes on the record.

By the way Tudorman...I called ebay and told them...
I was unhappy with a couple of watches and the seller. To make a long story short they refunded my money to my paypal account and I got to keep the watches also. Frigg'n crazy! Some strange "pilot program" they have. They don't even notify the seller about it.
